Will there be a chainsaw in the game or a release of the game?

I already made you a chainsaw, if you want another one just tell me. but my question does hold relevance to that subject.

Will you continue to use the .solid format for models? if so it would be easy to port the weapons i have already made into Overgrowth (like the chainsaw). and regarding that, has anyone on the wolfire team, looked at my weapons? it would be such an honor to get feedback from the team (not that anyone else's feedback isn't great).

Considering they lost the .solid editor, that's a no. But it's good to be on the Q&A of the interview for informational purposes.

Couldn't they use Blender, and rudel's converter, like i do?

It's a fan-made converter. Why would the people who make the actual games use a fan-made converter when they can make their own format?

i want to, but i can't argue with that logic... but it would make it easier on the modders. and rudel might not be motivated to make another converter this time, then where would i be? out in the snow, knee deep in ninja rabbits, using weapons i didn't make.

Yeah, it would make it easier on the modders if they used their own format, since that way they'd be able to put a model editor or converter in the modding tools that will probably come with the game which will be a lot better than a fan-made converter.

You'll be using developer tools to create your weapons. You don't need a converter.

I asked about that in the IRC channel, and it was either Jeff or Ninjas who told me that I'd be able to use models exported from Blender directly in the game.

that'll be cool. Still, theres a certain pride in creating the models, and if OG makes it so anyone can make their own stuff, i wouldn't be considered a modder. I'd just be using the program to its fullest, not modding... but hey, if i can make what I want, then i'll be fine. its a hobby anyway... :)

Edit: i dont mean to sound condescending, i'm really happy OG is going to be loaded with features. I am greatly anticipating its release. I would preorder now, but i dont know if my PC will run it. if it doesn't... I"LL GET A NEW COMPUTER!
