Thank you a lot Glabbit, I think you are the only one who noticed I'm back and how long have I been here. Thanks!Glabbit wrote:Oh hi cachiporrin, welcome back!
And yeah, that's an interesting point. What'd the costs be to get OG on there in the first place, actually?

Re: Overgrowth.....on steam?
Give us a non-steam version too. Because steam is evil. What if I don't want something hijacking my internets making sure that I purchased it every few minutes or days or whenever it does that. What if I don't want to be able to play that copy only via steam like it's some kind of drug I'm addicted to and can't play without?
Steam is pure gaming evil.
Sure, it's windows only (Thank god…) so I won't have to worry about it, but…
Ah, heck. Give it to them only on steam as a punishment.

Re: Overgrowth.....on steam?
Steam is merely just another medium for spreading your game out to the masses. Steam doesn't buy your copyright from you, they just help sell it. Wolfire can still sell Overgrowth here for 100% profits. But Indie developers who do get their game on Steam definitely get a lot of bank.

Its good for some, but not everyone.
Re: Overgrowth.....on steam?
We wouldn't be doing our jobs in the downstairs Wolfire "office" if we didn't look into steam. We are really excited to hear what they say about Overgrowth.
Re: Overgrowth.....on steam?
Well then lets hope its not a let down!

Re: Overgrowth.....on steam?
i love how glabbit and cachiporrin are off in their own little world
haha
and really, i think the profit all depends on how good the game actually is, and on steam, partially if metacritic gives it a rating.
i mean, eternity's child got on there (be it cheap, it still got on there) and it wasn't all that great
haha

Re: Overgrowth.....on steam?
Well, everything is signed and done with -- http://blog.wolfire.com/2008/12/overgro ... -up-steam/
To clarify this is just another way to buy Overgrowth. We retain all rights to sell it on our own from wolfire.com.

As much as I dislike steam, what this means for Wolfire is pretty awesome.
