Very nice, very nice Monkey =)
I have to say though, the armor seems a bit oddly placed, without any protection on the chest/neck at all.

It looks nice, but doesn't fit the Overgrowth theme. From what I've gathered weapons and armor will seem homemade/improvised. So less 'manufactured' than what you've made.

Aye, you'll want to take a close look at
this blog post to give you an idea what races wears what. that kind of a metal armor is more dog-style armor than anything else.

It's armor
EDIT: Also, the ear looks like it's coming out of the armor very close to the eye =o
The armor on the ear is but i can easily see the ear itself is not =)

True it looks more like a stripper than a fighter xD .. & that shoulder armor needs to be a little different. how about something like this

Never thought I would see the day I would see a Space marine lay a brick. Considering his back pack is supose to be his method of excreeting bodyly waste, funny never the less...
I think the Customizaiton in OG could come from Stealing bits of armor from turners enemy so that in the end you might come up with a exotic and outlandish Turner that everyone reconizes as a pirate of cultures. So you might towards the end of the game find Turner whereing a Cats Jump sute with Dog Plated Armor, A Rabbits back pack, and maybe a rats hemit whitch I envison a up turned birsds nest whorn over the head. Of curse its oponal to take the armor.

Yeah I love the 40K space marines. I think they are the coolest kind of Space Marine, so that picture hurts a little bit.

I used to have a tactical vest like that. It's not armor though, and the armor we do have is generally used to stop bullets.
I wouldn't mind seeing clothes with camouflage patterns though, even if it's crappy BDU-style (like the pants in Lugaru)
