More or less. I predicate my design on the assumption that there will be about 16 players per game at a high point, so it probably wouldn't reflect a true phalanx. That effect would be intended.sneaky_squirrel wrote:Such as the famous phalanx formation? In which multiple men equipped properly could decimate enemies, makes sense ;p.
Not a bad concept at all.

Which is interesting, because there are several types of dogs bred for the sole purpose of killing wolves, like the Saarloos Wolfhound and the Irish Wolfhound (pictured below in respective order) I really doubt a wolf would hold back from attacking a hostile dog.sneaky squirrel wrote:But I have to disagree with a group of dogs beating a pack of wolves, because even though wolves are savage, they really care for their kin in real life

He ain't so big ;p. (He's huge)
Since the dogs don't have humans I guess they could be just as wild as the wolves (Only with weapons XD).

I don't really fancy the idea of the different races working together, I'd rather see what the outcome of battles between races, which would make some at times unbalanced but also interesting fights.
This however would require an enormous amount of balancing and is maybe too experimental.
But having a pack of wolves battling some hidden rats doesn't sound so bad eh?
On a sidenote, I'd also like to see some more tactical objectives and systems, such as group spawns (say spawning 4 out of the 8 players on a team, they would then work together as a team and coordinate their attack).
Or maybe letting some players wait until certain conditions are met (such as: X amount of teammates have been killed, X amount of enemies are within N area), maybe you've seen a movie and wondered if this or that battle could be incorporated into the game, without fucking up either the gameplay or the story (with a game such as lotr conquest fucking up both). Mainly I'm just on about creating a rather filmic experience, that would in some way force tactics to be made
but maybe this is too little freedom, I don't know yet

Maybe some Aliens vs Predator influenced modes, where you have a couple of powerful players up against a handful of less powerful, but cooperative players.
