Phoenix Engine 6-30-05 Starting Physics

Post by David » Fri Jul 01, 2005 3:11 am

I just started working on physics expanding on the same general idea as the Lugaru physics engine; so far I have rigid constraints working, but nothing groundbreaking yet. Unfortunately physics are hard to demonstrate in screenshot form, but I will do my best.

Here is Turner with per-vertex physics after falling a bit too hard:

Maybe you can take a movie with Snapz? You're right, it's hard to demonstrate physics through screen shots.

...so you have to port snapz pro to windows in the process.

If his video card can capture video then he could make a clip of his progress.

Is a physics demo ever going to be released?

Just use Fraps for a windows video. http://www.fraps.com/ .

Ooh, do they turn 'round and explode!?
(Now all you need is manripping physics and you'll have a finished product.)

Fraps is a very nice program; I will use it to record a video for you once I get physics collisions and such working better.

That was the plan, but it turns out David is leaving the house in Sierra City (rural city near Tahoe) the same day I am, so we will both have broadband at the same time anyways. Therefore, my plan doesn't actually save any time for you guys afterall.
