Well, when you think about it, their short-term survival depends not on actually making a game, but rather on getting people excited about a game.

I guess if you want to stay afloat on this great sea of voices screaming for attention that is the Internet, you need to get good at screaming yourself

I cannot deny anymore why I was so eager about reaching 1,000,000 USD.

Though I find it surprising it took so long. :o

Software and cathedrals are much the same - first we build them, then we pray.

So I noticed that the original video at 1:17 says that if they reach 1 million USD they will release the source code to Gish, Lugaru and overture.

Edit:

Damn it just read the post above mine :x

Excellent offer, bought the pack and the Penumbra expansion (just played through Overture and Requiem).

Thanks for being so awesome.

Since David has done design tours on World of Goo, Aquaria and Gish, perhaps you could let him do one on Penumbra.

But we must!

EDIT: Just donated twice for two extra gift-versions of the bundle, in case I think of someone to give it too after the bundle has ended.
If now everyone does the same, we'll both have something great to give to our friends, making the world a better place, as well there's a better chance of reaching the 1,000,000 USD. 8)

Wolfire Games, 2D Boy, Bit Blot, Chronic Logic, Frictional Games, Amanita Design,

I am at a loss for words to describe how much respect you all have earned from me. This "Humble Bundle" is gutsy and visionary.

I am a programmer, and if one of these game developers were looking for another developer, I would be seriously tempted to quit my job and apply simply because you all have earned that much respect from me.

I think this is, or at least ought to be, the future of intellectual property.

The problem is, this only really works when it is an uncommon occurrence, and everyone says "oh, that's really cool that they're doing it". If you can pay however much you want for anything you want, whenever you want, I think the results would be much lower.

Just bought the bundle. I already got World of Goo back when 2Dboy was running their pay what you want sale, but I had always been wondering about that creepy rabbit fighting game and figured I'd toss a few bucks for charity.

I must thank you once more.

Though I didn't have that much money on paypal left =(
Also the 25% (without torrent) seems somewhat better then what the industry is talking about.

Also the sourcecode ? lol seriously that's pretty cool =)
