In general, it's a bad idea to ask when a game will be done, because there are too many unknowns, especially at this point in development.
The safest answer is within 10 years, or never.

If you need a new video card i would suggest the Radeon 9800 series. The lowest is 128, the highest (being the XT) is 256. They all model and render quite nicely, though the 256 is just an overclocked 128 so there is no increase in speed. Though they are coming down in price.
Emacs have built in graphics (as far as i know, they used to at least, when i was working at Apple we only really supported G5s and albooks in my lab) in which case the only thing to do is to get a new computer. Maybe a new imac G5? they are increased to 128 megs of vram.
So David, this is splendid news! I've always been a lugaru fan, though i got side tracked by UT2004.
Just one question, last i heard you were using an old G4 DP (i may be wrong, and i cant remember the mhz) so does this mean that you finally upped for a G5? If so, i can send you a Radeon 9800 pro SE (it's only 128megs of vram, but it's fast at rendering, faster than my XT card).
Naturally i wish for the best. I know that we probably wont see a copy of it for a long, long time to come. And even though some of us are the beta testers, i know that you opted out for newer, more experienced ones that will help out rather than just say "wow this game is kick ass!" In which case i applaud you for seeing the error of our ways. I hope that this game will come out with as much enthusiasm as the first Lugaru came out with. I have friends that downloaded and loved it to death.
Anyways, best of luck. Feel free to post screen shots of models, i am really curious to see if turner changed at all.

I may use some beta testers from the old Lugaru, but have not decided yet
I have a Powerbook G4 , and a PC Desktop now, and they are both very fast. Thank you for the offer though!

I wouldn't mind beta testing it, but my computer has a radeon 9000 128 mb vram card so I am not sure if it will run.

I could be a super-low end tester as well as a low end tester
700 MHz G4 32 MB VRAM and 400 MHZ G3 8 MB VRAM

I don't know if someone has brought this up already, but will there be any multiplayer this time around in Lugaru?

No. Lugaru 2 is going to be an epic adventure game. Single player only.
