Will Turner be able to use Doubleganger or any sort of ninjutsu?

Turner always sort of struck me as the straight forward, "tank" (to use MMOGs term) That pretty kicks down the door and goes in and kicks everyones butt. Just my impression. Besides Ninga's were only mercanaries or theives, so I don't think Turner will be getting ninga anything.

He will be able to refine his combat skill and learn new techniques; he starts out strong and fast, but undisciplined.

Or maybe there will be wolfs with ninjutsu skills, or maybe not because ninja wolfs sound way too overkill for Turner.

Rofl, I can see it now Black Ninja Wolfs jumping buildings with lightning fast moves.
Yes i agree to that Ninja wolfs are to overkill for the little guy

I've had an idea.
In the shooter game Deus Ex, there is a cool sort of RPG skill leveling-up system, which I think could be cool in Lugaru 2.
Basically, you earn Skill points by accomplishing primary and secondary objectives, and those skill points can go towards upgrading skills like Weapon Accuracy, Swimming, etc. Skills cost more and more Skill Points as they go into higher levels.
Maybe there can be something sort of like the Deus Ex sort of upgrading system, except for fighting styles? It would be cool to upgrade things like jumping height, sword handling, and defence, or otherwise completely customize Turner's fighting style, physical traits, and skills.

Nobody's gonna flame you but, I don't think so, I think David's not so into that...that would also be overkill for Turner, unfortunately :? . Also, I think levelling up would require it to be more RPG-like and would be overkill for people anxious to fight things waay too much stronger than they are

There will be no magic. That's totally out of place in the world of Lugaru.

To answer your other question, Lugaru 2 is going to be an epic RPG adventure game. There will be stats for sure, although the implementation has not been finalized yet. It's unlikely that you'll have a raw sheet of statistics like you do in Deus Ex and you arbitrarily get 5 skill points or whatever to use - we're trying to come up with a way to integrate them into the game more.

Will the interface be similarly simple?
Absent, to be more precise :)

No, there will be an interface of some kind; you will at least have an inventory and quests log.

Heya David

Good to see your alive and well and at work on something new.
It's great to see your hiring a whole team to help your project meet its maximum potential and I wish you best regards.

I do, however, have one comment.
It is my personal opinion that, with the RPG guise, you should find someone well versed in the field of creative writing to create subplots and twists for your hopfully engrossing story. Just my two cents.
Goodluck!
