This is Why Overgrowth Needs Bears

I don't normally post random stuff like this, but this one is way too good to pass up.

Check it out.

A friend showed me this yesterday. The even better part was that I was playing Lugaru when he sent me the link.

I foresee someone modding in a Bear character if they don't end up being there at the start. Probably make tougher opponents than Wolves. :x

Flying Squirrels would be pretty fun too :)

Flying squirrels can only glide. It would be sweet to have bats- they're mammalian, technically, so they'd be affected by the Lugaru/OG anthropomorphism and they'd still be able to fly (for real, and not just glide)

Yeah, they can only glide, but their still badass. And would believably be able to fight with martial arts or weaponry without the extra flaps of skin they use for gliding getting in the way, unlike a bat, who's wings would both get in the way and be vulnerable to damage.

Even only able to glide, a Flying Squirrel jumping from a high enough position could make it quite a distance. I'd assume they would make good theives or assassins in the OG world, being able to make fast getaway from any building high enough.

Heh. I like the way he uses his snout like an extra limb.

Also the part where he twirls the stick while chewing on his foot.

Bears really are strange, I don't think there's too many creatures that can do that! I for one would go unconscious after the first swing for example!

Hahaha, I love the part where he twirls it and throws it into the air and then catches it. Badass ninja moves.

Looks like my sister doing color-guard...

(but I think it's actually pretty cool)

This is true, but I imagine that bats' high maneuverability and flight ability would be concentrated on more than their physical strength. For instance, they'd easily be able to fly over high walls and stay incognito by say, clinging upside down on a high roof or folding up in a dark corner- bats are pretty much all black or dark brown, so they'd be good at hiding in shadows and whatnot. I pegged them as assassins, or if they'd be used in direct combat, I could see a swarm of bats flying around a group of wolves/rabbits/cats/dogs/rats, most of them just being used as distractions while a few bats sneak up from behind. They'd be useful in big fights, too, for that same reason- while the ground forces keep the enemy occupied, bats swoop out of the sky and backstab the enemy.

Flying squirrels would probably be overall more balanced, but again, they'd have some disadvantages- for instance, they need to be on top of a tree or tall wall to glide, they can't just start flapping their arms and take off from the ground.

Was he trained to do that or did he discover that game all by himself?

As cool/funny as it was, I'm a bit worried about that bear. He showed some really odd behaviour (apart from the obvious) and then he just sort of collapsed at the end.

It looks more like he shoved his tongue inside of his own ass.
