At roughly 300 times the mass of Half-Life's G-Man, yes the Whaleman is slightly more conspicuous.

Quick, grab that whale a ghillie suit.

To be honest, his appearance in the game will either be that of a final boss (less likely), or as an easter-egg for devoted fans.

there should be a dock level and if you repeatedly smash f10 whaleman kicks you in the balls, (and everywhere else thinking about it)

In other news, I sincerely hope the Whaleman is in Overgrowth, if only as a brief cameo (eg some beach level where you see him swimming around for a short period of time) Or maybe he could make several brief cameos, ala Half Life's G-Man- though I reckon he'd be slightly more conspicuous.
I'd love to see the whale-man fixin' his tie behind a shut door!
