I assume that you're referring to Overgrowth, yeah?
Scary, that's what it would have been.

You are not the first one to think so.
Andrige, the artist, was even featured on the blog!

m3nace also did some bears, and as it happens, was also featured on the blog.

So they'll most probably appear in a mod, at some point.

Well... if there are going to be bears I wish to get Panda's as well!
Haha I wish someone could create one of those transformed animals from the Parasite Eve game... on second thought that would only scare the crap out of me.

I love you sir

actually being able to play as the zoanthropes from Bloody Roar would be awesome, Xion's still my all time favorite, just because of the attached spikes and swords basicly

Creating a panda would be easy to do since it's a simple texture change, think of how Blizzard does with their assets and you'' understand.

I love the ideas of having bears and pandas.
But I do understand it would need a very large game campaign to have each animal in the game.

That's true, considering a panda is actually a bear, creating one would be as simple as a texture change, I would also like to see a bat maybe, but perhaps this could be a little too difficult considering bats have wings and I don't think they're going to add flying creatures in there.
Our view on new creatures for overgrowth don't have to be limited to reality though right?
Heck I would actually go for some fictional creatures like the creatures from METRO 2033, I would totally like to roundhouse kick a Nosalis on its Snout xD

Does it have to be added in Campaign though? I think there are way more ways to add these creatures, perhaps in survival modes or challenges, stuff like that

aaaahhhh the good old days with lugaru :')

Ahh, that is correct.
It could be a nice feautre in a game mode with waves of creatures you need to survive.
After an amount of waves, like 10 waves, has been passed, new creatures comes running at ya.
1-10: Cat
11-20: Dog
And so on.

And for example after the wave of dog enemies from 21-30 you could set it to a creature that you downloaded in a mod or something, this could work out, with the giant maps that Overgrowth has this should definitely be looked into more.

Having ten waves with the same enemies would get old. Increasingly difficult waves, each wave with random creatures taken from a customized list. Not hard to do even in a mod - it's basically just [reset map - create X enemies of Y race - start the fight]. Having custom moves and/or AI for modded-in creatures, such as bears, would be harder, but since we don't have any examples it's impossible to say how much harder.
Also, if there's a survival mode with waves of enemies, every 5 or 10 waves or so, an extra-tough "boss" monster wćould be created in addition to the normal mooks, with its race randomized separately. Not an actual boss, but something that's a little bit tougher and has slightly better equipment than the normal creatures.
