Okay guys, I'm fairly certain I just deleted 3 pr0n topics in a row, which were all posted by the EXACT same person....

Please ban the user "Atteneviardit" I'm getting tired of disapproving their posts

Only Spam Police / moderators / admins have the required permissions to ban users.

I've banned the user you mentioned, since it's profile was filled with links to porn sites, a quite obvious spammer. However, be aware that we may not always be able to do this. When a user has a (almost) empty profile, and there are no posts (because they were disapproved) based on which we can determine whether he is a spammer, we won't ban him since we cannot be sure whether he's a real user or a spambot.

I understand. That user was becoming particularly annoying, however. They just kept posting even after their posts were disapproved, and It was all porn sites. I'm sorry, I was a little perturbed at the time.

I don't suppose they'll ever stop...

This manual disapproval system basically ensures that the advertisements will get read by at least one person each, which is probably a success in the minds of the spammers.

Not necessarily read. The ones that use a Russian-ish language I don't have to check what they link to.

Messages tittled "penis enlargement" just don't get read anyway, its just auto disapprove always.
We don't really read the adds unless the topic name is unclear, or atleast I don't

Just tried out my moderator powah by disapproving a thread about spam. Should I just ban the users directly or simply disapprove and let someone with more experience (and more active on the forum, I had no idea spam was getting this bad  ) the pleasure of banning the spam-bots?

Sadly, you can't ban them.
I guess you have to leave that up to us moderators and spam officers. Image

Ahh, I hoped I could also ban them. Oh well, my fault for visiting the forum only every once in a while.

Thought I'd accidentally glitched the forums for a moment, when it was telling me I had a queue of posts to moderate :P

I noticed that a lot of the spam bots are +40 years old. They are easily spottable from the "birthdays today" thing.

I love it when I can disapprove the post while the fuque-tard is still logged on the site so they get to watch all their sign-up time and effort go up in smoke.
