Post by Lugaruman100 » Sat Nov 12, 2005 9:27 pm

Screenshots are good, but gameplay footage ROCKS!

Right now we are focusing more on design and content than on gameplay proramming, but we may soon post some pictures from our incredibly talented concept artist 8)

Concept art? I was expecting a screenshot or 2 of the levels or characters.

their prolly still designing the code itself, i.e. making their own model/level formats right now, not to mention making the actually models and scenery.. I would be shocked if they did have gameplay.

Most games are not officially announced until a couple years into development, and then start releasing screenshots a bit after that. Try and be patient...

There have been a lot of projects (like Prey or Duke Nuke'em Forever) where they are quick to release screenshots, but never get the actual game done. I'm certain those projects have a lot more people working on them than David has for Lugaru 2.

At the end of the day, no matter how tallented or motivated a person is one person can only get so much can work done. I think only people who have pushed themselves as hard as they can for years really understand this on a visceral level.

To have coded and done the art for a game by yourself is something only a few people alive today have been able to do. I have complete faith that Lugaru 2 will not only get released eventually, but be totally awesome when it is.

L2 is targeted for Fall 2006, but my point is that we are on a much faster timescale than most games, so you shouldn't complain about slowness 8)

I think everyone should take what they get and not complain. As it is, I think we are being kept sufficiently up-to-date with what's going on in terms of game development. I can imagine it must take a very long time to get something even worth showing, so it would be best to take anything we get as it comes, and just wait.

Listen to the dude; for the descriptions he's given of the end product, "fast" is putting it mildly :)
