YES!!
That is awesome, the view distance is really high, and the lag is reduced by more than 70%! That's a really cool improvement, that's like, something every one has been wanting for, and it's here now! Oh, I am so glad for this one, it accomplishes so much. Greater distance for gameplay, better optimization for computers, it's GRRReat!
Ok, I'm happy today. It's a good day.

Waaahoo!
I cant wait to see this in action!
I hate it in some of the other Games like the Evil MMO WOW how the fog is all blue and you can only see so far in to random fog.
you have done something i have never seen before. amazing.
I wonder what Frame rate it is going to be on my Clunky old eMac.
(think its going to Run? lol)
On a side note (Everyone is Probably going to say this or has said this at some stage)
as an Jester with no Job or School to go to, and just bumming around home sending anything that comes to mind that i think could help you're game (Hopefully I have). I Volunteer to assist any way I can. I have an eye for Detail. that is unless you have some one else you feel more comfortable to do the job.
normally i would not ask such an outrages thing, mainly because People think that an Jester has no use.
are you interested with my help

Very impressive Dave. It is very great to see that you are moving right along.
I saw Macqiggy's comment, and, well. It would be interesting to have some sort of demo, but I don't think it would be very good. Everything that you can do has already been demonstrated by blog posts, and we don't want to waste Dave's time... it would be interesting, but wouldn't satisfy like the Lugaru demo did.

The lower polygon count for distant places is certainly a very very very good improvement, it might even add a 2% addition to realism, with the fact it's slightly harder to see clearly because of it (As well as the fade effect and fog effect and/or whatever)

Sounds like you're targetting a lot of Lugaru's slight weak points specifically.

I wonder what the next big thing will be.

I'm glad to see that this is being addressed. The view distance was one of Lugaru's weaker points and something I was specifically hoping would be improved.
Excellent news, and I'm personally looking forward to any kind of tech demo - so thats extra cool.

Alright, this is just one of my pet peeves, ignore me if you will, but please don't confuse framerate slowdown with lag. They are completely different.
On a slightly different note, David, you are a programming genius. I envy your mad skills.

seriously. I have to see david's keyboard. It has to be a 'board of +2000000000 programming.

Please don't bump this thread... My false hopes are getting to be too much to bear.

Hey, how do you get the RSS feed to work? I can't get any feeds to work for some reason. Just keeps saying firefox can't open the address because the protocol (feed) isn't associated with any programs.
