local co op lfg (steam remote play together)

Hi
I am working on making existing levels co op by adding a second player character and also adding extra enemies/changing the layout of the level slightly to make it more challenging. would anyone want to play co op or versus with me using steam's remote play together feature?
Also are there any rules about using other people's or the main campaign levels to make a new mod? I just want to add more enemies and make a split screen campaign. I was going to credit them but do I need explicit permission to use other people's stuff
