Skin help

Post by pyros soul » Wed Mar 29, 2006 5:50 pm

Okay, I've turned on the debug mode and I have been trying to get skins to load. But it won't work and I have ran out of ideas.

EDIT: I'm not making skins, just getting other ones to work.

swap the textures in the "lugaru" -> "data" -> "textures" folder.

Typing the name of the texture in the console(without the .jpg or .png extension) works too :P
... if I remember correctly.

It's kinda hard to tell you what to do.
You have to tell us exactly what you are doing. Are you trying to change any of the skyboxes? Is it having to do with the weapons and armor? If your just trying to change Turner's skin it should be fairly simple (doing what Ipod said is a very easy way to do this).
I'm not sure about the console commands. I'll have to read the console guide again to figure it out.

Ok, if you want to change Turner, just swap out the "fur3," by renaming your new skin to... fur3, and placing it in the same folder to overwrite
And, if you want to put in new clothes type in "clothes <name>" no quotes or <. Remember, swap out the clothes first, I'm not sure if Lugaru can magically figure out what the clothing type is, just by looking.

Cellar door, rambo, kungfu, white, brown, and black are commands to change your skin, you can also(I think) do a workaround using the Clothes command and the name of a full-body texture. After a few changes you should probably type Noclothes so you don't have too many textures stacked up :)

Okay, I have downloaded a mod and i am trying to make the skins work, but i have no idea what i am doing, the console guide and it only says type in the skin name like "rambo". I don't know if it's telling to type "clothes <rambo>" or just "<rambo>" That is what i am trying to figure out

How much time would it take you to type one, then type the other, and see which one works? :)
