Hi, i recently got Lugaru and I need some help. I wanted to try out the cheats(like flying and head exploding) but when I change debug mode from a 0 to a 1 it says I have to save the file with a with a new name and it will only let me save it as a .rtf instead of a .txt and so debug mode doesn't work. Can anyone help me and is there an application that can save it as a .txt.

If you're a Windows user, notepad does the job. If you're a Linux user, vim does it as well. If you're a Mac user, someone else here has the answer.
Remember that your config.txt mustn't be write-protected.

Write-protected (Locked on macintosh) does sound like the problem, but I've had some unusual "Can't save as Mac OS Roman" or whatever things, so maybe not
If you're using a mac (I hope so) then try using Xcode from the dev tools, or pico, etc, in the terminal

This problem can happen if you're using Mac OS X. You should open the config file with SimpleText rather than TextEdit.
To do this, just control-click on the config file, move your mouse to the "Open with >" item, and pick "SimpleText".

You don't need to start Classic just to edit a simpletext file
Just open with textedit, press shift-cmd-t, make changes, save somewhere,
and replace it with the old one.
You only need to replace it first time, after that you can save the usual way.
Edit: I forgot shift-cmd-t has stopped working for me, dunno about you,
but instead go to the format menu and select convert to simpletext or
whatever it is on english.

Pressing cmd-shift-t and saving is faster than booting classic.
