I don't exactly remember when, but Lugaru now has no sounds. I don't think I've installed anything that has anything to do with lame, but Lugaru stopped having sounds a while ago. It really didn't bug me that much, and I only recently tried reinstalling to get the sounds back. But it didn't help.

What could I do? I'm running Windows 98 (and no, I'm not gonna upgrade to XP).

It happened to me, too. Get rid of anything LAME related and restart. You should be fine then.

Tried deleting everything I found when I searched for "lame", but still no good. Could there be other files that have something to do with lame but are named differently?

Ahh, got it fixed (no thanks to you *ahem*

). Had to decrease the sound card acceleration to none in DXDiag. Thanks for the help anyway.
