Screen Shot Techniques?

Post by Ovaltine » Tue Oct 10, 2006 5:51 pm

I always have trouble taking good screen shots, as the hotkey for taking them involves "shift". I'm always ducking! It's quite a bitch.

Also, what's a good program for recording my screen so I can show the world just how amazing I am at Lugaru?

With debug mode enabled, hit 'v' to freeze the screen before taking a screenshot.

On Mac, try Snapz Pro.

First, make sure debug mode is ON (In your config file, change debug to 1 (debug = 1))

Then, just press whatever debug keys you want. (i, I, v, b, etc)

And you can enter commands in the console when debug is activated. (press ` to activate it, ie: tilde without the shift key (~))

Too bad you can't zoom in or anything, or have an option to hide your info

Why do you need to hide your info? It's not visible! (Assuming you're nice and tidy like me and crop it after you take the screenshot, or use command-shift-4 instead)

I'm not sure what that does, but I don't have a mac. The macs my family uses are strictly for work.

How do you even get shift-command-4 to work in Lugaru? whenever I try it nothing happens...it just sits there...plus I can't alt-tab out of Lugaru anyway...
Anyone know of a FREE screen capture tool that I can use? I'm not going to spend $69 bucks just to take screenshots for Lugaru...

That's because it's cmd-tab, not alt-tab (on Mac).

When you press command-shift-4 a crosshair appears, and in lugaru it's REALLY hard to see, that's all. :P

Yeah, that's what I meant. Actually on mine it's Windows + Tab because I'm using a PC keyboard. :P
