In a prepared statement, Turner claimed the image had been doctored, and threatened a lawsuit if an apology was not published. However, photographic experts could find no signs of image manipulation, and stated categorically that "as shocking as it is, this is a legitimate, unretouched image."
An associate of Turner commented, "We've always wondered what T has in his pants, but the idea that it's a wolf arm, claws and all, is patently ridiculous."
An offer to give Turner an opportunity to reveal for the camera what he really does keep in his pants elicited no response.
