Snapshots from the island
The only thing I do in the data folder is turn on debug and Mouse Jump (I love Mouse Jump!), and that's it. Everything else is debug only; I don't use Map Editor either (that would make it far too easy).
And I don't think of the things I exploit for my little explorations into the weird side of Lugaru as glitches; I like to think of them as "Special Features."

Dude,

I consider that a welcome challenge.
Shall we start a new thread, set up some parameters, and invite some other contenders? Or do you just want to duke it out for the title of Screenshot Superhero right here?
Either way, you're toast. Or should I say...

But, remember...

So let's keep it friendly. I'll even let you go first. May the best bunny win.

PS: Nice gifs.

Ok, here we go... If you want, go make a new thread and some rules. I'm all for it! I feel like break dancing now!

I know, I can do better. Just wait...
Edit:

!

Edit:

And actually, zatoichi's right. We should actually have our contest on the wikizatoichi wrote:Usagi, you should have your own section on the wiki.
Well, I can see you aren't gonna make it easy. That's good, tho: tough competitors always bring out the best in everybunny.
So, kid: ever danced with the devil in the full moon light? 'Cuz I like break dancin' too...

We could start by establishing a few topics to choose from: Dancing, Combat, Dialogue Screens, Tales (or Tails) of Turner, Blood Baths, Funny, Weird, X-Rated, Impossible (kinda like wirework in a martial arts movie), Artistic, Creepy. Free-style, Glitch Exploitation, etc.
Make some suggestions and we'll define a list. You can even suggest a topic you don't think your competition can do yet (like Dialogue Screens: know how to mod those?), give 'em a chance to come up with something, and then drop the hammer you've got behind your back. But then you gotta share techniques (I wanna learn new stuff, too).
I'd restrict this to Data File changes (not interested in sound, frankly; only images) and Debug: no Map Editor except in specific, agreed upon topics. I think ME makes stuff too easy. You can fly, and your foes are frozen. But if ya got sumpin' special, make a case.
As for other rules, we'll use the same ones as in a knife fight: the only rule is there are no rules. But let's keep the trash talk light and humorous; I want a GIF contest, not a pissing contest. And only compliments (or light-hearted comments like, "That is one scary bunny ya got there"); no "Your GIFs suck, man. Check out a real bunny's work!"
Should we trade off goin' first and letting the other guy try to top it, or set a topic and both post at the same time? I have a certain advantage, since I've been doing this for a while.

I've got a file with over 100 GIFs, tho' not all high quality. The dance above was an avatar I considered to go with my Dancing sequence. But it's up to you as to whether that's an unfair advantage. In a duel, you get to name the place, but I get to name the weapons, but I don't want to handicap anybunny.
And we'll let the forum vote (or compete) if they want to. Or suggest topics (Does and Gentlebunnies, what topic would like to see our competitors tackle next?)
If this is too complex, or you don't feel like doing it any more, we can just post our stuff in the GIFs thread. But I think it'll be fun, and let us show off our stuff.
As for the Wiki, that seems kinda static to me. We could always post the best of the best there.
So,
...are we gonna do it? And what do the Admins say. And if it flies, do we start a new thread, or do they move this one?

I don't mess with the dialogue editor, either. Can't seem to get it to function.
If I want to change some dialogue, I do it the old fashioned way: in PS. It's kind of a pain.
But, there's lots you can do with dialogue screen besides change the words. Changing the scene so the words still fit, but in some ridiculous way, is even funnier. And takes more skill (and hard won knowledge of Lugaru's arcane features).

Edit: What do you use to make your custom clothes in Lugaru?
NickD wrote:You've been playing Lugaru a lot longer than I have, so you have a better feel for its unique features. I’m just starting to learn how to use the Map editor for scene changes
. But one thing... I think it should be illegal for you to use your GIFs from your stash. You should take as long and use as much imagination as I am for the contest.
And, do we really have to ask permission to set up a competition?Usagi wrote:Agreed.
