speaking help

Post by abcdefghq11 » Mon Sep 10, 2012 4:10 pm

In dedit how do I know who is talking when I write my dialogue. Is there an indicator or something?

Tutorial: viewtopic.php?p=74058#p74058

The dialogue appears in order.

The person that is speaking isn't defined per se. Instead, the camera must be positioned so that it's obvious who's saying what.

Every piece of dialogue gets a camera position. You set the camera position for a line of dialogue. You have to select the line and then set the position in Dedit. So you click on the left list to select the iteration item, then you click on the right list to select the actual dialogue item, then you set the stuff on the bottom for that dialogue item.

Once you pick another item in the left list, you'll see that the list gets updated.

You really have to select the actual dialogue item on the right you want to edit. It could be multiple items for one dialogue chunk.

In this example, we've selected dialogue chunk 0, and the second line of the dialogue chunk.

Thanks, now it's so much more easier apart from setting the camera angles
