My lugaru fanfic - Lone wolf
Part 20 = The great escape
"Oy, Wake up!"
Vixen opened her eyes, she was on the "Sea dragon" in the cage as usual. A rabbit with a bowl filled with some gooey stuff was standing in fron of the cage
"Dinner time."
The rabbit put the bowl inside the cage, Vixen looked at it, it was sick-green goo, it looked digusting, and she was sure it just moved, she pushed it to the other side of the cage
"Hey, if you don't eat this you don't get any food for the rest of the day."
The rabbit walked off. Vixen grabbed some of the goo in her hand, it was like clay. She licked it but it tasted like rotten cabbage and 5-day old fish.
"Hmm..."
She put the goo in the keyhole of the cage, then she pulled it out. the shape of the keyhole moulded the goo into some sort of key, she put it back in and turned it. The door opened, and someone saw her, worse, the door was creaky so everyone heard it. She ran out of the cage and kicked a rabbit over, then took his hand drill, she didn't know how to turn it on but she knew how to slash & stab. She threw the drill at a rabbit, who wasn't quick enough. She then grabbed him and threw him at his friends who were charging at her. She jumped overboard, the rabbits were glad she didn't do too much damage, suddenly, an odd noise came from the bottom of the boat, some rabbits went down to see what it was, and they saw slash marks breaking through the bottom of the boat! The sea dragon sank, but while it was sinking Vixen threw the handrill through the ropes holding up one of the lifeboats, it fell, she got in, and she rowed away.
Meanwhile....
Almost a few seconds after Invertin said "Bum.." He heard screaming, he swam to see what it was, a really big boat was sinking! He noticed a smaller boat coming from that direction. He pulled out a fire pellet, expecting a rabbit.
"Vixen!?"
"Invertin! Good to see you, what are you doing out here?"
"Long story, not alowed to tell anyway, what are you doing here?"
"I asked first"
They smiled, then Invertin climbed up into the boat
"Hang on, whats that?"
Off in the distance there was a large black ship (Black hound) what looked like really large wolves were sailing, and some rabbits were tied to the mast.
"Wanna steal a ship?"
"Why not?"
The rowed towards the large ship, not knowing about the bears inside...

Part- 21 Confusion
Invertin and Vixen are sailing towards the black hound. A bear spots them, and knows they're wolves, he throws some throwing axes at them, which only just miss.
"What the!?"
Some more bears cam to see what all the fuss was about, they had some throwing axes handy too.
"Vixen, duck!"
Vixen ducked and an axe flew over her head and cut her ear in half
"Aurgh!"
"Be glad that wasn't your face! Time for plan b?
"Yes!"
They turned the boat upside down and trapped some air in it, then they held it on their heads as they sank to the bottom of the sea (Which thankfully, isn't too deep in this part of the water.) They walked along, trying to get to the surface. Vixen dipped her head under for a better look. After a few seconds she came back up and pointed (It was awkward because of the size of the boat).
"That way"
They walked along, and before long were on a beach.
"Are you sure this is Lugaru?"
"I saw some rabbits going off in that direction."
"How can you see so well in the water?"
"I just can."
"Vixen, I need to go now."
"I'll come with you."
"No, you can't."
"What!? You just saved me and know you want to split up again!?"
"Just wait here, take this."
Invertin handed Vixen a knife, then walked towards the council. Vixen just watched as he walked off. Then she started following him from a safe distance. After a long walk Invertin finally made it, he opened the door (Which has been disguised as a rock for now.) and went inside, Vixen did the same. When Vixen walked in, she saw, rabbits, Invertin, and another wolf, who wore a black cloak.
"Um.. I'll just be leaving now.."
Invertin nodded, Vixen walked out the door and waited outside, inside Invertin was telling them about his "trip".
"-and then we were attacked by.. Things, they were large, and brown, and I thougth they were just big wolves! Me and Vixen wouldn't have survived if we hadn't turned the boat upside down-"
Hiriad raised his hand, which was a signal to be quiet.
"What boat were they on?"
"It was a big black boat, with a metal wolf head attached to the front, infact it was just like the boat I saw before..."
"Then these creatures must be the prisoners of the swarm... I must go now."
"What? Why?"
"There is someone I havn't met yet, who could help me a great deal with these things."
Hiriad walked out the door. Invertin remembered about Vixen.
"I'd better go too, my friend is waiting outside."
Invertin walked out the door. Vixen was wating for him.
"So, what was that all about?"
"I'm sorry, I can't tell you."
"Invertin, we are friends now, but if you keep these secrets away from me we cannot be."
"You've gotten alot more serious since the drillers captured you."
"How do you know they're called drillers?"
"I was attacked by one."
"Ah."
They walked off together, but before they could Ackrilox opened the door.
"Invertin, could I.. Come with you?"
Invertin hid his hatred (He still didn't forgive Ackrilox) and nodded. So Invertin, Ackrilox, and Vixen walked off together...

Part 22 The bears woods.
All three of them are walking west, and since Vixen isn't in the council, she wants to know whats going on.
"Why are you with all those rabbits? and whose this guy?"
"I can't tell you about the rabbits, but this is my brother, Ackrilox."
"Oh, nice to meet you Ackrilox."
"My pleasure."
"And why ar you wearing those robes?"
"I've been wearing them since I found you."
"You mean when I found you."
"It's to do with the rabbits, I can't tell you anything I'm not allowed."
"Why not?"
"Thats a secret."
Vixen tried to think of a reply, but she couldn't think of anything. Ackrilox stopped.
"Hang on... I smell something."
"What is it?"
"Like.. Rabbits, but at the same time wolves..."
"Oh come on, what are they?"
"...I think they might be the creatures you found."
Ackrilox followed the smell.
"Wait, why can't I smell it?"
"I was always the better nose. It leads into those woods."
"Lets go then."
They went into the woods (Which were slightly south of the council and end at the beach.) and followed the oddly convienient path until the get to a 3 way fork in the path. Ackrilox started sniffing the air like mad.
"Arg, they split up here, Invertin go in the middle, I'll go this way."
Invertin took the middle fork, Vixen took the right fork, and Ackrilox took the left. Invertin was agitated, he knew someone was following him, but they were very good at it. After a while he heard Ackrilox
"Gah! Get off me you freak!"
Invertin looked round, and on the other side of a large thorn bush, Ackirlox was being attacked by one of the things on the boat!
"Ackrilox! I'm coming!"
He slashed the bush away with his claws trying to get to Ackrilox and when the bush finally gave way, Invertin grabbed the thing from behind and threw it over him into a tree, then Invertin grabbed it by the throat.
"Who are you?"
"I am Axe-blade"
"What are you?"
"I am a bear."
"Why are you here?"
"I am scouting out the area, it seems you are too."
"We are not scouting, we are traveling! Why did you attack my brother?"
"Wolves and rabbits are trying to kill us all!"
"Who told you this?"
"Our Cheiftan"
"Where is he?"
"If I tell you I'll be killed, and so will my friends."
"If you tell me, the Cheiftan won't know about this, if you don't I will kill you."
"No."
Invertin strangled the bear, then turned to Ackrilox.
"Are you ok?"
"I'm fine, but you've been asking way too many questions for today."
Invertin smiled.
"Glad were friends again."
They walkde towards the exit together, when they got to the end they found Vixen, but she was wearing a diamond necklace
"I found this in the woods, what do you think?"
"You look great!"
"Wait, is that diamond?"
"Not sure, anyway lets go."
"Um.. Where are we going?"
"You'll see."
And again, Invertin, Ackrilox and Vixen walked off.

Part 23 Sickening
Its nighttime just outside the forest, they've got a fire and Vixen has fallen asleep.
"Ackrilox... Why?"
"Why what?"
"Why did you study rabbit martial arts? You knew the danger."
"I'm not sure myself, at the time I just wanted to know how to reverse that kick. But know, it seems more like I wanted to leave."
Vixen started coughing, then she got up.
"Eugh, I don't feel well."
Then she promptly threw up in the fire.
"Great, now we got the smell of burning sick."
"Vixen you try to get some rest. You might feel better after some sleep."
Vixen nodded and lay down again.
"We should ge her somewhere safe."
"Where? We're banished wolves!"
"The council"
"...Ok, forgot about that for a second."
The next day...
They all wake up.
"Ok, Vixen we're taking you back to the rabbits."
"What? Oh, that thing. Why?"
"Because thats really the only safe place anymore."
"Right."
They head back to the council.
Later...
Invertin, Ackirlox, and Vixen walk inside the council. Hiriad is in the main hall.
"Hiriad, do you have any medicenes?"
"Why?"
"Our friend here is-"

I can't think of anything with Invertin right now, so instead here is an unrelated side-story I will make if something like this happens again.
Lugaru 2031 - part 1 (This is not the story that will be used ingame)
A large sphere with 5 small holes in the back is drifting through space.. In the distance a small spacecraft can be seen, inside the sphere is lots of rabbits and rabbit-bots. Some rabbits and rabbit bots are standing outside a large door with shockstaffs. the door is glowing green.
"Wait for it..."
The door glows brighter, then goes yellow, then bright red then it melts away as armoured wolf soilders run in and try to take out the rabbits with only their Death claws (see the new post in Lugaru : 2031 to find out what they are). The wolves face little casualties while the rabbits are completly wiped out, only one bot who has had it's legs cut off survives. a wolf grabs the bot by it's neck and lifts it to the wall.
"Where is the bridge?"
the robot is about to answer but then it's eyes glow red.
"WARNING WARNING! CLASSIFIED INFORMATION IS NOT FOR WOLF! SELF DESTRUCT!"
the rabbit-bot blows up and covers the wolf in shrapnel and broken robot.
"Arg, search the ship, don't kill to many though, we want prisoners."
The wolves split up, a group of nanobots appear at the scene and try to repair the bots and get the bodies away.
Meanwhile at the bridge...
Lots of rabbits at computers are hard at work, the commander is stop in the middle looking at a computer screen on the ceiling.
"Computer, there seems to be radiation and nanobots at one of our drop-pod entrances, let me get a look."
"Certainly sir"
The computer flashes green then shows a cameras view of the spot.
"Hmmm... Show me what happened 5 minuites ago in that location."
"Yes sir, searching now.... Done"
The screen flashes green again and shows the fight again.
"Wolves? how did they get past our shields!?"
"Sir, would you like me to set status to yellow?"
"no, set the status to red. and look for those wolves."
"Yes sir."
The computer screen turns off, then flips over so it looks like it isn't there.
"You, send a couple of those bolt-bags to the holochamber, tell them to guard it at all costs."
The commander grabs a shockstaff from the wall and puts it on his back.
"This is our fight now."
(Back to the regular schedule tomorrow [If I remember])

Part 24 Love hurts
Invertin, Vixen and Ackrilox are walking along a beach at night.
"So what was that thing that Hiriad game to you?"
"It's a cure to the sickness I got, apparently I'm allergic to something."
"What changed since you got sick?"
Ackrilox grabbed the diamond necklace and put it under Vixens nose, who then stopped and threw up on the floor in front of her.
"Um.. I think it's the necklace."
Vixen took off the necklace and threw it into the sea.
"Shame really, that was a pretty necklace."
"So you don't need Hiriads cure anymore."
"No, but the bottle looks nice, I'll keep it."
They continued along the beach and decided to set up camp a little bit away on the grass.
Later...
Vixen is asleep while Ackrilox and Invertin are talking.
"Ackrilox.. I need your advice."
"What with?"
"I... I love Vixen, but I don't know how to tell her."
"Don't worry, she feels the same way about you."
"Really?"
"I don't know, I just like to get your hopes up."
"...."
"If you want to get her to like you, do something romantic."
"like what?"

Invertin followed Ackriloxes advice, who gave them some privacy, and he and Vixen sat together on the beach watching the sunset.
"I love watching the sunset."
Vixen leaned on Invertins shoulder, whoo began to blush.
"Yeah.. Me to."
After the sun went down Vixen didn't seem like she had changed her view about Invertin at all. Invertin, dissapointed, go up and was about to walk away.
"Wait!"
Invertin turned round, Vixen kissed his cheek, the turned his head to kiss properly. Invertin closed his eyes and got ready to embrace it.
"AAAHHH!!"
Vixen let go of Invertin, who opened his eyes and saw a bloodstained claw empailing her, the claw removed itself from the wound and Vixen fell into a puddle of her own blood. Invertin looked at the killer. It was Ackrilox.
"Sorry brother, I was hoping I'd get you too."
Invertin simply charged at Ackrilox and punched him so hard he fell over. Ackrilox got up and pulled out a knife and tried to throw it at Invertin, as the knife flew towards him those few seconds felt like days, he looked at Vixens corpse, the looked at the knife, and just as everything seemed normal speed he caught the knife. Then he threw it back and managed to catch Ackrilox off guard, Invertin rolled over Ackrilox and pulled out the knife mid roll. Ackrilox was dead.
"....Vixen...Tiergan...Fishbait... My only friends now are the Council-"
Invertin turned round and ran to the council, when he got there he found his friends dead... Hiriad wasn't there but the others all were.
"...Ackrilox... I hate you."
Invertin walked out and looked at the moon, he thought about everything he'd lost, how he crawled his way back up and just got pushed down again.. He howled at the moon, not for the hunt, not for the pack, but for Vixen.

Part 24 Love hurts
Invertin, Vixen and Ackrilox are walking along a beach at night.
"So what was that thing that Hiriad game to you?"
"It's a cure to the sickness I got, apparently I'm allergic to something."
"What changed since you got sick?"
Ackrilox grabbed the diamond necklace and put it under Vixens nose, who then stopped and threw up on the floor in front of her.
"Um.. I think it's the necklace."
Vixen took off the necklace and threw it into the sea.
"Shame really, that was a pretty necklace."
"So you don't need Hiriads cure anymore."
"No, but the bottle looks nice, I'll keep it."
They continued along the beach and decided to set up camp a little bit away on the grass.
Later...
Vixen is asleep while Ackrilox and Invertin are talking.
"Ackrilox.. I need your advice."
"What with?"
"I... I love Vixen, but I don't know how to tell her."
"Don't worry, she feels the same way about you."
"Really?"
"I don't know, I just like to get your hopes up."
"...."
"If you want to get her to like you, do something romantic."
"like what?"

An engineer runs up to the commander.
"Sir, should we get Digamma?"
"No, if he dies then this war will be for nothing."
"But if we don't use him we will lose this battle, the wolves have hover bots ready!"
"...Send in Alpha and Beta."
"Alpha? But their still tra-"
"I know, but their the best chance we got."
"..Yes sir."
The Engineer pulled out a little square and said something into it. Then he put it away and left.
Meanwhile...
Some rabbits are working hard at computers, when a hologram of the rabbit holding the square appears
"Activate Alpha and Beta, Code 29041"
The hologram dissapears and one of the rabbits presses a 2 red buttons on the top of the keyboard.
the wall opposite the rabbits opens up and 2 water-filled tanks with rabbits inside come out of the open space. The wall shuts again and the water-tanks empty. The tanks then open and the rabbits walk out calmly.
"Get me a weapon, some clothes, and some armour on top of that."
"Same here."
And immediatly some nanobots arrive with clothes, weapons, and armour.
"Thanks, who's the enemy?"
"We've been raided by wolves, they're attacking the holochamber as we speak, if they get the-"
"I know, lets go."
The rabbits put on the armour and clothes, then grab the weapons and run to the holochamber.

Part 25 The Swarm
Invertin was in the woods from before, he just lay on the ground and watched the branches and sky above, thinking about Vixen. Suddenly he hears a thud nearby. He gets up and finds a strange artifact, it was a silver skull with a gold jaw and rubies in the eye sockets. Invertin picked up the skull and put it into his pocket, it looked valuable. Almost as soon as the skull touched the bottom of his pocket a strange creature jumped from a tree and landed right in front of him. It was such a strange creature bcasue it wore armour that makes it impossible to tell if it is a wolf or rabbit, the armour was crimson with silver slashes in some places and covered up everything but the elbows, shoulders, knees, ankles, and hips. Even the neck was covered. The helmet was the weirdest part, there was 2 large tubes coming out of the top where a rabbit's ears would go, but at the same time their was an elongated nose like a wolves for the helmet. The eyeholes were simpley 2 horizantal slits and the mouth holes were 3 vertical slits, this armour oviously took a while to make, under neath the armour was black robes.
"Hello Invertin."
The voice of this thing, wasn't a bark, or a chirp, it was more like some sort of creepy breathing, it was impossible to tell if it was male or female, wolf or rabbit.
"How do you know my name?"
"I've been following you for some time now, but today I dropped my treasure-skull."
Invertin clenched his pocket, already he'd become attached to the skull.
"I know it is in your possession, and while I will not fight you for it, you will be killed for it in 24 hours. Do you understand?"
"No, why is the skull such a big deal? And who are you?"
"The skull is of no concern of you, and I am a member of the swarm."
"The swarm? But I saw your ship! It was covered in bears!"
"Pah-lease, you think the Swarm are a little gang like on that boat? The Swarm has been going on for almost as long as the chainsaw cult, right under everyones noses, it started out as rabbits sharing information, very inoccent. One day a wolf arrived at our camp and told us what we should do, from then on wolves and rabbits have been recruited into the swarm, soon the whole of Lugaru will be a part of the swarm, then nothing will stop us from destroying the others."
"Others?"
"The bears were our first step, there is alot more out there."
"You plan to wipe out the planet so the wolves don't go hungry? What kind of wolf-rabbit-thing are you!?"
The thing laughed
"Call people like us red ants, and I'm the kind of red ant in a gang that will become an empire. And just because you made me miss an important meeting, you now have 12 hours to live."
"Why can't I just give it back?"
"Nobody can."
Invertin took the skull out of his pocket and was about to give it to the "red ant" but just as the red ant reaced out to grab it..
*No, it's your skull now*
He quickly put the skull back in his pocket and the red ant just laughed.
"You see? There is something weird about that skull, remember, 12 hours."
The red ant grabbed invertin's arm and pulled a dark pellet out of the glove, then he threw it on the ground and when the smoke faded he was gone.
"12 hours to live... Why can't I get rid of this thing?"
*It's yours isn't it? Why should they have it?*
*Wait, I thought good and evil were illusions! When did you guys split again?*

Alpha continued into the holochamber, a hologram of a wolf appeared in front of him and pounced but alpha pulled out a tazer-blade and stabbed the hologram in the head. a real wolf jumped out from behind a wall and another hologram appeared, Alpha cartwheeled backwards and threw the tazer-blade mid throw which stabbed the hologram in the face and killed it. The wolf activated his energy-claws and ran at alpha, who replied with 2 feet to the head.
Meanwhile at the command deck....
"Sir, Beta has been terminated!"
"What!? What about alpha?"
"He's in the holochamber."
"Crud, he's not going to survive, he may be trained well but he doesn't have any evolvien in him yet, activate chi and delta."
"Yes sir."

Delta and chi walked out of the tank-room a few minutes later, chi's armour was easy to move in but weak while delta's was big and hard to move in, they got to a fork
"You go that way, I'll take this way."
Delta and chi split up, chi was agitated, her armour wasn't made for full on fighting, she was supposed to be take a stealthy apporach, she walked past the door to the holochamber, she looked into the room and saw alpha under attack from the wolf. She carefully snuck round the holochamber and silently threw a knife into the wolves back.
"Hey! He was my kill!"
"Your welcome, let's go."
alpha got up and pulled his knife from the hologram and carried on firther with chi not far behind.
Delta ended up with a straight corridor, a very long straight corridor, and his armour didn't make it any easier.
"Come on! Hurry up! There's got to be a turning somewhere!"
He thought he heard something so he pulled a shockstaff from his back and carried on.
"I could use a drink right about now."
He saw a turning and took it straight away, he saw a group of wolves attacking a load of rabbitbots.
"Now this is what I'm talking about!"
He smacked a wolf in the head, using his shockstaff like a baseball bat. By the time he was done every wolves head was caved in by his shockstaff, even the ones who were dead before he got there. Then a wolf general blasted through the wall.
Wolf generals
Armour: Heavy
Weapon: Shockstaffs
Special: Always have a hoverbot following him around.
The wolf general had loads of tazer-blades thrown at him, all at once, but they simply bounced off his armour, he smacked a robot in the head so hard the shards of robot stabbed another in the fuel core, who blew up. Delta tryed to hit the general with his staff but the general blocked it with his staff, they were locked in a stafflock, a hoverbot floated in and was shredded by the tazer-blades
"Why do you generals always have a hoverbot to protect your asses?"
"And why do you always have a load of 'bots to protect yours?"
"If anything I'm proecting them!"
"just shut up and try to push me over."

Turner watched as the 2 wolves circled the rock, he threw a body at one, hoping to scare them away, but they simply chased after him, he ran to a mountain where he finally stopped at the peak, he managed to kick one and duck under another's roundhouse kick just in time, he jumped, flipped and tried to rabbit-kick ackrilox in the back but Invertin got in the way and reversed it, ackrilox turned round and punched turner just as he got up which knocked him off the mountain, turner survived the fall and charged at them, then jumped over, flipped and rabbit kicked ackrilox, he was out cold, Invertin was full of fury now, (this was before he hated Ackrilox) and hit turner in the face and smacked him into the ground, turner got up and leg sweeped him, then kiked him while he was down, Invertin got up and tried to roundhouse kick Turner but he reversed it and roundhouse kicked him back to the rock he was at the start, Invertin got up just in time to be kicked in the face and smack! Into the rock, Invertin was K.O'd.
