OS 9 Problems

Post by Raziell » Sat Dec 09, 2006 6:32 pm

Hey all, I downloaded Mac OS Lugaru, extracted it using the latest version of StuffIt (7.0.3) and I get a problem several other people have had, where I get a folder named 'LugaruMac Folder' inside it is a folder named _MACOSX, one called Lugaru, and a blank document called _LUGARU. I saw in the other threads where it was recommended to people running OS X to upgrade StuffIt, obviously I can't, because 7.0.3 is the latest version. Anyone got any ideas?

You're seeing the OS X version of the game - it stores all the data in hidden files, that OS 9 can see. Your OS won't recognize its types of files. At the moment, I'm not sure if there's a OS 9 port of Lugaru, unless David or Jeff can confirm this.

But doesn't Lugaru already work on OS9?
I haven't got classic installed so I can't check, but it's not a .app and
in show info it has the option "Open in Classic".

Weird, I never even thought about this.

Well, I know OS 9 is supported by troubleshooting thingies in the Wiki:

" My textures are white

If you are using Mac OS 9 (Classic), increase virtual memory. You probably aren't giving OpenGL enough RAM (OpenGL uses unused RAM; do not increase Lugaru's preferred memory size.) "

It's a pity my textures aren't white. :(

If it's a compression issue (I don't know about this stuff), try this .sit archive. It's the same content as the normal Lugaru.zip, but it might be more OS 9-friendly.
