If you're not a native speaker in a language, don't even think about translating to it.
Also, don't forget that i18n necessarily includes correct keymapping, extending fonts with special characters and other stuff. Translating text is the easier part.
Therefore, it's common to let someone do such things who knows how to do it. It involves programming and font-design.
Such a job is usually paid badly, but paid nonetheless. Making it for free in a professional context is highly unusual. Don't forget that Wolfire Software is a professional developer company. If you're not a friend of the developers, they probably won't consider giving you the job expecting that you'll cry for money once you start to realize it's not done in 3 hours.

Bah. The perks of being able to look into all that code are the payment for the translating.
And I'm fairly certain he is a native speaker in Spanish, rudel.

Yeah, but he should better back off from german or french, that's what I meant.

1. Sí, entiendes español suficientemente para traducir Lugaru, pero ¿entiendes inglés suficientemente? Tambien, en español y inglés, ¿entiendes las reglas de punctuación y gramática? No las usas todo el tiempo...
2. Okay...
3. Creo que yo puedo ayudarte (pero no soy "amigo").
4. Okay.
5. Yo tambien puedo trabajar sin pago.

To whom is that directed? Is that about the free Lugaru 2 thing cachiporrin wanted?

Yes. He wish.
Edit: I mean... That's like asking a movie director for a copy of the script of a blockbuster movie that's going to be released in a year. If you're not careful, half of the world might already know the movie.. copy it.. and whatnot. Or asking Coca Cola for the secret ingredient.

I don't think he means he wants it _before_ it comes out.
Still, it's a stupid thing to ask. I'm fairly certain I know enough Spanish to translate every necessary thing and I'd gladly do it for free. I don't mind screwing over big corporations, but I paid for Lugaru rather than downloading it for free when I realized it was such a small company.

It's just more work for the team. Give them a break

. I could understand if they were a mass producing game company, but the team's only like... 7 people

...And this is why you shouldn't be allowed to translate Lugaru: as I predicted, you can't read English.
