I was gonna whip up a quick cyborg bunny from a bunch of metal textures stuck on the wireframe to demonstrate what I meant for Z, but then I started to have fun with it.

So here it is.



He's kinda fun to play Lugaru with, 'cuz he really looks like he could leg cannon somebody out of sight.

Not bad His chest, upper legs and head look very good.

what program do you use?

If you are Using photoshop, I say go back into the wire frame layer and just re do it with a shade of lighter (not too excessive lighter shade) so i looks more like the light is hitting it.

as for the Japanese rabbit, I love your new Cyborg bunny.
Just the ears are a little frustrating to look at...

Yeah, that must be some pretty flexible material there, considering the ragdoll physics. Especially the ears Colicedus mentioned.

Nonetheless, almost all of that looks pretty cool. My only complaint would be the back part of the lower legs. I dunno...they just look weird, somehow. Can't quite place it. I'll post again if I figure out why -- nevermind. I got it...they look like socks.

As I said, I started out to just slap together an example, then started getting interested.

I grabbed a bunch of interesting metal images on the web (it would be fun to have a contest to guess what some of them are, but I doubt anyone would get most of them) and plastered them on the wireframe.

I started fooling around with the upper part to make it look better, and then really got involved. I never got around to the lower parts.

The lower legs are actually from a site that had some military medals (wanna guess what country?) and I thought the metal skulls for knees would be funny. But obviously, they don't really look mechanical.

I might get back to cleaning this up; it's fun, but I'm outa time right now.

I've got lots of tips for making skins, but the best tip I've got is get at least PS Elements and start playing around. I may post more tips later; gotta go now.

Gimp is a nice program. Just try it, it's free software. It is very good for skin-making. http://www.gimp.org/

In a few months, there should be a free Photoshop edition coming out, btw. Called 'Web Edition' if I recall correctly.

PS Elements 4 is less than $20 now (they've issued 5).

Gimp is by far cooler than PS Elements 4.

It's only free if you get it with a Graphire4 graphics tablet... like I did I never knew there was a 5 though XD
