I could care less if lugaru is ported on to windows, because if it did then people would know lugaru as a good windows game without knowing it was developed and released for the mac. In my opinion, lugaru shows to be a great game and also proveing that there are such things as home brewed games on the macintosh platform.

This may not prove to windows users that the macintosh can be a stable gaming platform but it's 1 step closer from becoming it.

Why would David sacrifice a shit ton of money just to help the reputation of a corporation that he has no affiliation with.

Well, I for one think that he should not spend extra money on a few sorry ass PC gamers who don't have one out of the millions of games for the com. PC gamers have other stuff to play, such as, Halo, the Syberia series, UT, (currently) Darwinia, Marine Sharpshoother, the "Tycoon" games, hell, I could go on forever. My point is that PC gamers have no respect whatsoever for Mac users because they think that they're so lucky that they get to play practically all of the games we don't. So, why should David help them? There are plenty of Mac gamers waiting for a game like this, all the kids at my school said was that it was crazy, and they're all WINDOWS users! Can you believe their disrespect for David??? That is very unacceptable...Windows users should be punished! Mac users, line up and prepare to attack MS!!!!!!

I didn't mean it that way. What I meant was that the macintosh needs more game developers that can make good games just like david. To tell you the truth, I don't like the derection apple is at right now, focusing big on only music, mp3 players, video editing and basicly rejecting video games on the mac in general because 90% of current macintoshs lack AGP&PCI slots. Then again it's not only apple's fault but the media and mainstream windows video game developers as well.

Yet that does not mean windows game developers don't make bad games, I will still play windows games on a windows computer along side playing ports of them on my macintosh.

I agree 100%. IMG and it's associates Feral, Ambrosia, Freeverse, etc. are doing all of the work, while Apple sits down thinking that they couldn't care less if another game was sent to them and they rejected it. I currently would like to play some of the still upcoming games from all 3 companies I listed like Gooball, Darwinia, Commandos Battle Pack. It's just that out of all of the Mac games on Sourceforge 75% of them end up cancelled or abandoned due to lack of support. But I'm following the development of an FPS called Nexuiz at http://www.nexuiz.com. to me it looks pretty good and I'm waiting for it's release because it'll be free and online.

Mac users have Halo, UT, and I believe tycoon games too.
As for Lugaru not getting the mac recognition it deserves... david could put a big "Made with Macintosh" image on startup :D

They also get all Blizzard games, so stop whining.

Ok then, they get Tribes, Prince of Persia, the rest of Ubi's games, Star Wars: Galaxies, Star Wars: Repulic Commando, and I could go on forever. Hdlsa, if you're a PC user, you're just jealous that Mac gamers get to play Lugaru and you don't while half of them aren't even part of the forums. Well, that about sums it up, for real. And Zip, you get my point

Wow, discrimination in the digital world?

The only reason why David might possibly port Lugaru to PC is simply due to the fact that there is a greater market for PC than Macintosh. Basically, more gamers use Windows than Mac.

Granted that Windows runs more games, you guys can't just assume that a typical Windows user will play the aforementioned UT, Halo, WoW, Blizzard, Tycoon, Prince Persia, etc. because gamers have taste too. You forget that there are people in our society who are strictly FPS-fans or RTS-fans or RPG-fans. So granted that these gamers run a platform which potentially supports more games than Mac, you cannot assume that we will play them all.

Furthermore, you fail to realize that even non-Mac-users appreciate David's games as well. Just because a person uses Windows, it does not he/she inherently disrespect David.

Personally I run a dual-boot Red Hat 9 and Windows XP machine and I do game on both platforms.

If you give me about two years, I could port it to Linux using either GLX or glut :D

No.. not really. Whats wrong with him wanting to play Lugaru? He isn't saying mac users don't deserve such a good game and it should be windows only.

This is turning into Macs vs PCs again, lets get back on topic.

I guess your right Zip...with both of your last comments...let's get back on topic, if we wanna yell about Apple vs. MS there's already a 7 page thread in the Randomness forum.
