What's so funny, Jeff?!
You saying I can't do it?
I know a few guys that can help, OK?
That is nothing to be laughed at.
While I'm at it I may make a game where you're the Alpha Wolf with it's own plot since Lugaru needs lots of user made levels, like Zip said.
And witha an admin's pemission I could (If I sucessfully make the Mod) call it:
Lugaru: The Wolf's Claw. Maybe. Huh?
(the island+a distinguishing limb of a wolf)

Do you know C++? Are you familiar with OpenGL? Are you familiar with the OS X frameworks?
I have some document around here proposing a Lugaru MUD.. I had it started a while back and would be willing to continue IF there is enough interest.

I'm not exactly...good with OpenGL or C++ but, I have a friend who is MORE familiar with them than I am that has been looking for a chance to make an MP game. We even started coming up with ideas for (maybe) a dot Hack mmorpg and a Lineage(1)-like MMORPG, but this, this is perfect. I might use the MUD you started if I can for starters, Zip. Later I might convert Lugaru to an online 3D game with different skins for players (I hope it's possible).

Ok, let me put it this way. Even if you are Linus Torvalds, there is no way you are going to be able to add seamless multiplayer support to Lugaru for the simple reason that you are completely unfamiliar with David's code.

Yes.. you might. But it would takek you a while to become familiar with CircleMUD.. did I mention its in C and text based?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

David's code is... interesting (from what i've seen of GLFighters). i still don't know how that guys ported it. I say, let him have o go with it. See how far he gets :D

Thanks for the support, Nayr. I think. Not really. But I'll try and figure it out. If I can...I'll have a go at it with LAN. If that suceeds I'll try making an Online build and if I do that...what will I get out of it? I'll still make it if I can but, who says I'll give it to you? Also, Zip did you ever upload that modding guide, thing, whatever?

I didn't ask you to give it to me :)

What about the modding guide that you were going to upload, Zip? And where can I get the Lugaru MUD so I can pick up where you left off? I would be very happy to help you, Zip! :D I am still in scool thaough and have other things to do so...I could help but...may not be able to as much as you want me to. :( I am somewhat familiar to C (not C++) and I am looking in to game making.

Just get yourself stock copy of CircleMUD and start from there.
Which guide? I sort of forgot :\
Clothing or mapping.

Blorx: learning to program by trying to add a very difficult bit of functionality to someone else's code is not a route to success or very good learning. If you're interested in learning to program by messing around with pre-created, I suggest you check out the Torque Game Engine. It's way cool.

Additionally, Lugaru is not open-source, so David should be damn careful about who he gives access to the source to. Despite you and your friend's good intentions, I very much doubt that he is going to go sending his source code to you because of a forum post and a willingness to help.

If you're truly interested in creating a game of your own, I strongly suggest you check out Torque. It really is an awesome resource.

Ok,Zip. Now, is CircleMUD for Mac? Also you had a modding guide that you would upload so I could make that Wolf Campaign I was planning to make, I don't know which one but, when I wanted to know how to mod Lugaru, you said you had a guide for it. Also, how do you get CircleMUD?
