I'd join for a mapping contest, but not for a whole campaign. It's just too much, you know..

I think there should be some kind of theme for the contest.

And it would be more fun if it was an official contest and the winner would get some goodie related to L2! Jury would be the Wolfire Software staff. The contest and winner would be announced on the blog, entries would have to be sent via e-mail to some wolfire box. That would kick ass.

Actually, since I was only talking about sequels bearing the title of Metal Gear Solid, only Metal Gear Solid games count as sequels to Metal Gear Solid. Got it?

It's not how good the games are, (Although I've found that stealth, Metal Gear, and the NES don't mix too well, and there's that "I feel asleep" bit… Ah well, we've got to start somewhere…) it's how many sequels there are that are actually Metal Gear Solid games.

I said for the MSX. That's why I specifically said Metal Gear for the MSX, because the MSX versions were fantastic and the NES versions were not.

The NES versions were awful and had awful translations and awful graphics. The NES versions turned into side-scrolling missions at certain points where it was impossible to avoid killing everyone on the map...which kind of defeated the purpose of the whole stealth aspect. Anyway the Metal Gear games are still counted as a whole of the series. Metal Gear Solid is a sequel to the Metal Gear games.

Just go get an MSX emulator and play Metal Gear 1 and 2. Trust me.

Oh and you said MGS games were the only ones that counted. I was correcting you by saying the MSX Metal Gear's counted too since without playing them you have an incomplete capacity for appreciating the whole series for what it is.

But it's also part of a different series with rather different styles (Mainly due to 3D and all), and is not named "Metal Gear 3" or something similar. I was saying that 2-3 sequels to Metal Gear Solid have/will have come out, Metal Gear Acid, Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2, etc don't exactly count as they aren't specifically Metal Gear Solid games, not to mention the fact I just plain wasn't referring to the other Metal Gear games.

Halo 1, Halo 2, Halo 3, very clearly all sequels to a clearly defined series, any other "Halo GBA", "Halo Tennis", "How do you spell Halo?", and so on aren't really sequels to that particular series. Get the picture?
