How do you insert pictures into posts?

I wanted to insert a few pictures from my computer (not from the internet) to illustrate a question I have, but I do not know how to go about doing it. I see the insert image button, but at risk of sounding like a "noob", I do not know how to get it to work.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks so much all!

The easiest thing to do is to upload the file to Imageshack. To upload the file to Imageshack, just click "Browse..." then find the picture you want to upload, then hit the upload button.

Then copy the code for forums (1) and paste it into your post.

or I suppose technically you could do basically the same thing with photobucket
