Models and model collections

So this topic is about 3D models for Lugaru.

Only post models that actually work in-game and don't kill the framerate when you collide with them. If you stay below 500 faces, you should be fine.

Post a rendering of your model in your art software (preferably with ambient occlusion and a sun light) and a screenshot of the model in-game.

You can announce a collection. No hard feelings if you don't deliver later. Maybe someone else gets inspired?

You can request a collection or specific models. Don't freak out if noone steps in, this is all just for fun anyway.

You can discuss models. Please keep your criticism constructive.

Either you provide a link to a model in a post or you later post a collection of models. If you release a model you posted earlier in a collection, please edit your model post to reflect that; this makes it easier to navigate the thread.

Okay, my first collection will be containing pieces for infrastructure. I am planning the following stuff:
- bridge
- lamp
- sign
- house

Discarded:
- cobblestone street (framerate)
- stairs (framerate, collision detection)
- fence (collision detection)
- tree (framerate)

And I'm taking requests for the collection and suggestions for changes to the models.

The first piece is a bridge.

I will post it in the collection once I'm done. What do you think?

I think...cool.

Further commenting is plausible once I stop drooling.

Good one! :)
Think you can make a Primitive hut that one can actualy enter?
No, No, a castle! no, a...

No Colicedus, be good...

Yeah, that's the house on the list. It'll be very collision-friendly though.

Lamp:

296 vertices, 632 faces.

The majority of faces is in the upper part, so a level builder should make sure the player can't reach it, otherwise the framerate goes down.

Okay, I'm thinking about something like this as a house:
Image
348 vertices, 686 faces - that's pretty much as high as you can get with 1 house if the framerate is supposed to be stable.

Although fighting in there is fun, I'm not feeling it yet. Will probably come up with something better. Suggestions are welcome.

Thats dont look like a house, looks more like rudel's Arc, or a half pipe.
It probobly needs a skin.

I tried to get some kind of caveman look, but the result is just weird, hehe.

Hmm...

I think I got one...
Do you by any chance have Age of Empires (1/origonal)?
I think the tool/bronze aged Yamato empires house is good place to get inspired.

I'll check that out.

I will have to rework the previously done models to incorporate UV mapping. We'll see how that goes. I'll post later with results..
