cannot place objects in map editor

Post by bobdole » Tue Jun 03, 2008 7:29 pm

Exactly as the title says. Press "M" and nothing happens. I can delete objects seemingly fine but I can't place them. Also the bushes keep coming back on all of my levels despite me repeatedly deleting them.

Help.

Are you saving the map after you've deleted your bushes?
Have you tried selecting different kinds of objects, do none of them place when you press M?

Yes, I am saving the map, and yes, I am changing objects. Interestingly, when I try to resize the objects the number goes up and down even though there's no object being resized - it's almost like the object's invisible or it's placed somewhere on the map where I can't see it.

I'm kind of stumped.

Yeah if you don't jump when you place the object you won't see it, maybe that's it.

Yeah, objects are placed with their tops pretty much beneath your feet, so you'll want to jump in order to get them above ground. (Holding jump makes you float, and holding it, releasing it, holding it again and so on will make you hover, more or less.)
