Lugaru Custom Skins

Post by leDoOd » Fri Feb 11, 2005 11:02 am

Howdy all, I'm leDoOd, the new n00b, and I've discovered something fantabulous.

I've figured out how to make custom skins for every bunny in the game. On a Mac, go to Lugaru>data>textures and find the files fur1, 2, and 3.jpg and use an image editor like Photoshop. I unfortunately don't know how to find those files on a Windoze, though.

Here's my first skin, Zombie Turner.

What do you think?

Well... its not really new, but it's awsome that tyou dd something by yourself instead of the usual noob whine "I can' tbeat level xxx omg i'm gong to haxxx00r3 luaguru that will teach you1!!!!!!!!".
Awsome texture though :D , would you like me to put it up at Lugaru.tk?
Btw: Don't draw pupils on the face texture, wasting your time, thats just the skin underneath the eyeballs.

Skinning rocks. I'm too lazy to make anything, btw is it possible to edit ".solid" files. I'm thinking of modelling to go with skinning.

, um yeah, the purpose of A message board is to ask experienced people what THEY use and y they like it. I was told that David uses Cinema 4D . I have CE 6, but it doesn't have .solid models.

DtC.. I somehow doubt you have ever edited a .solid :)
For one thing you don't have the editor, and second it would have to match the animation data for the object you are editing....

Ahh, so it's not self contained... Like the infinitely annoying Quake 3 engine.

IN quake 3 games like Jedi Knight 2 and 3, the model has no animations whatsoever. All the animations are stored in .gla files. The model has to match the skeleton exactly or you will have to create a new animation file. Which btw, will take you forever and ever.

Sure, and thanks everyone! I'm glad that I got a nice reception and I will continue with some more skins.
