Unusual things to do

Post by Derakon » Thu Oct 23, 2008 2:16 pm

I figured this could be fun. Feel free to add your own.

Have you ever...

* Killed the Alpha Wolf with stealth?
* Reversed an enemy through a wall? (Temple/Empire campaigns)
* Survived a fall off of the "floating island" challenge levels?

I have survived a fall from one of the floating island levels. I know I did it on the snowy one (I think it's level five) but I may have done it on the desert one (I think it's level nine) too. I'm pretty sure I didn't use the ledge trick at the time, I think I just got knocked off far enough to land on the nearby hill while spending little enough airtime to go ragdoll.

I survived on the snow one, too. I got down to the little platform just under the initial rock where you start off (it's behind you, there's a few rocks there) then I did a handspring off of it, which lowered me down about half the distance rapidly enough so I could land unharmed.

Haha, you cheated. You don't get the award.

That's exactly what I said I didn't do, because doing that is cheating.

Interesting. I jumped off, then air-controlled back to the wall and did a walljump.

And did it? ^-^

Anyway, I think most people who've played Lugaru for more than a month should have the third one...
I think I actually survived every single one of the falls in the floating box challenges...

Killing the alpha wolf with stealth, now... there's an interesting on I haven't tried...

I've survived falls, but never on purpose. Like that one time some bass-tart tripped me up while I was running. Obviously I went flying but landed on a hill.

Then the idiots who were still alive jumped off after me. ^.^

I threw a knife at an enemy that landed in front of me and they cartwheeled when it hit them and I pulled the knife out as they flew by and threw the knife again and hit another rabbit that was coming up behind the other (now dead) one.

Hah, that happened to me, but instead of throwing the knife at another rabbit the dead rabbit flying in the air hit him with enough force to get me a "Nice Aim!"

I was testing the Billhook earlier, and i did a double back-handspring then leg cannoned the rabbit that was running at me, he hit another rabbit and killed them both, then i caught the Billhook he had been holding, and turned around and killed another rabbit with it. not super amazing, but it looked pretty cool.

Rather more recently I hit a rabbit out of the air with the knife and he flew right into the camera, chest-first. Got a nice view of the knife stuck into him as he went by.

By the way, the spinecrusher (unarmed stealth attack) is a guaranteed KO no matter how much health the opponent has. Or at least, I've yet to ever see an enemy get up after one.
