Odin pushes the door open with his foot and ambles into the Inn. Setting his duffle on the floor next to him he drops himself into a barstool and orders a bowl of soup. Swiveling around in the chair he leans back on the counter and looks around.

befor shardiks able too react the door busts open right into hes face and a stranger comes in. shardik he lands just by the drunk guys side and doesent rise himself from the floor again his panpipe breaks as the strange guy steps on it. the stranger just ignores the two of them and ran too the bar

"Jack, this guy seems a bit of a weirdo. You wanna go get a jump on those little kitties ourselves?" Celias asked.

(Oh, a tiny edit- Celias' equipment also includes a pair of metal claws on his left arm and a retractable knife on his right. The claws come from the OMGWTFISGOINGON-RP when he kills an Eastern mercenary who has them, and the retractable knife is a bit of a rip of Assassin's Creed since he was busy being an assassin 4 years.)

shardik gets back up then looks at his panpipe"son of a ***** danm took me an hour too make that thing... ill make my self a lute some time" he walked over too jack and said "hey care too go hunt some cats whit me. looks like they are coming slow and carefull so well why dont we find them befor they find us ? you can take your friend whit you.."

The group exited the pub and started towards the direction where the cats were coming from. Meanwhile, in that same group...

"Our fighters?" asked a very large cat, speaking to a Jackal. "We have a dozen, sir. 3 tigers, 4 lions, and 4 jackals, including me. And of course, then we have you, Nomanium. (Know-Mane-Ee-Um)." "Yes... I thirst for the blood of those rabbit and wolf infidels, and any other breeds among them." Nomanium said. "We will start at the outskirts of these villiages. There are many inns and pubs full of those idiots getting drunk, safe from the winter's slashing cold."

"How many cats are supposed to be coming, anyways?" Celias asked as they walked way from the tavern. "Not sure." said Jack. "But probably not too many for us to handle." Celias took a swig from the skin pouch of ale as Jack spoke. "Damn, why does it have to get this cold in winter..."


Oh yes; Nomanium is a very large Liger. Yes, I said a liger. Ligers are actually real, not just from Napoleon Dynamite. Here is a reference picture of a 6 foot tall man by a liger on it's hind feet: Lol a liger. These huge beasts are a cross breed between lions and tigers. They grow about 12 feet long and weigh half a ton (1,000 pounds.) So, this guy is dangerous. Since we're talking anthropomorphic creatures, he's probably twice the height of any of our characters and 3 or 4 times the weight. His arms would be proportionally about 5 feet long, and his legs would be 6.

Jack loosened the tanto in its sheath, and held his spear up. He could smell cat, a distinct smell like freshly cleaned fur, maybe. "They're nearby." he whispered to Celias. He had somewhat of a prescience in him, maybe because his mother had been a gypsy, or maybe not. but he felt rather than smelled the enemies. however, this prescience didn't serve him greatly when 2 jackals cam crashing down on top of him. He twisted just before hitting the ground, and caught two fists holding knives. He had dropped his spear, and it now lay across his chest. Celias yanked one off and slit its throat, and Jack grabbed his spear and whipped it around sweeping the jackal away, he then threw his tanto after it, and it pierced its shoulder. Jack then plunged the spear into it. however yet another one hit him over the head with a cudgel. Jack fell forward, but Shardik killed it before it could deliver another blow. Jack got up and retrieved his tanto, and rubbed his head.

(( I gotta ask, so how did you know which direction the cats were coming from? The previous RP? Spitting into the wind? Blind luck? Dropping a stick and seeing which direction it fell? ))

Celias drew his larger sword and shifted the weight back. These bastards move fast! A roar alerted him to a charging lion armed with a battle-ax. He got down in a three point position, his sword held behind his back, and waited for the lion to start raising his axe, at which point Celias flew forward and gave a slash to the lion's arms. The lion had sensed the attack and rolled out of the way, and the two collided with enough force to send Celias flying back. He drew his crossbow, rolled over, and fired a shot at the lion- it went through his arm and he dropped the axe with a roar, but then pulled the arrow and rushed towards Celias. Jack thrust his spear into the side of the cat, giving Celias time to shift his sword to heavy-weight and chop off the lion's head. "Damn... these cats are tough!" (Reference scale, in terms of toughness: Jackal < Tiger < Lion < Liger)



Oh, and @Gray: They already knew which general direction the cats were coming from, and they used smell to find the specific direction once they were close enough.

(( The question wasn't, "Did you know the general direction of the cats?", the question was, "How did you know the general direction of the cats?" As far as I could tell, the only thing mentioned earlier was the number of cats and, "Hey, cats are going to attack, yeah, stuff, eat soup." ))

I'm agreeing with Gray here, you're going to need an explanation.

Uhm, blood's character just mentioned the cats coming o: But it could be any number of explanations- maybe he has a spy who noticed it, maybe one of the outer villages was already attacked, maybe Shardik had met them earlier, maybe Shardik just heard about it as a rumor and wanted to go see if it was true- does it really matter? (Though you should explain how he knew, blood.)
