Just downloaded the free copy via MacHeist (Thanks!--I'm looking at Overgrowth now...) Extracted the download, but the Lugaru app shows as a text file instead of an app. I helpfully appended '.app', but then received the 'this is a Classic app and is no longer supported' error. I've seen others running 10.5.5 on the forums who don't seem to have a problem. Any ideas?
I've tried extracting the LugaruMac.zip file a few times.

I have 10.5.6 and it runs fine. Perhaps MacHeist actually DID somehow give you the OS 9 version. Try the one at http://www.wolfire.com/free-lugaru
Or, if you have a key already, download the OS X demo and enter it when you get the "Register!!!" prompt. And write the key down, you can't Command-Tab/Command-H/Control-Left/anything out of the game.

There is no such OS9 or OSX version (well, as far I know). Maybe the zip file you had from MacHeist is incomplete or you tried to launch the wrong file.
