Re: Premature
This looks really cool. In terms of the spectre picture I'd pick the second one from the right. He looks the most...spectre-y.
Baalzebul, to clarify, is some fictional character from something. Basically a copy of Beelzebub, but... at the same time not Beelzebub.
Beelzebub is a variant spelling on the ancient demon Ba'al Zebub. It's become a popular term for referring to Satan or the devil. "Ba'al" was a title assigned to many Northwest Semetic gods.invertin wrote:I'm pretty sure that's the proper spelling.Count Roland wrote:strange I always spelt it beelzebub.

There wasn't a way to make the picture blend in photoshop?Groveller wrote:

Re: Premature
JPEGs don't support transparency AFAIK.
That's one of the reasons why I was curious as to how the fade effect was achieved.

Re: Premature
Well that would explain the pronounciation. Even if they weren't really saying beezlebub.Renegade_Turner wrote:Beelzebub is a variant spelling on the ancient demon Ba'al Zebub.invertin wrote:I'm pretty sure that's the proper spelling.Count Roland wrote:strange I always spelt it beelzebub.
Wait, are you sure they don't use transparancy? I swear I remember some form of transparancy. It might have been in the knife or something.
Re: Premature
Many of the textures (clothes, weapons) are PNG, with transparency, but actual skins are JPGs.

Re: Premature
actually the knife in lugaru uses a .png format for it's texture, which is weird.
Re: Premature
The knife is a weapon.

Re: Premature
its not weird, its a good idea. you know those holes on the handle of the knife? those aren't part of the model, the .png texture allowed David to put those in just by making parts of the texture transparent. wait... you of all people probably already knew that... well its out there now so anybody who didn't know, you do now.Count Roland wrote:actually the knife in lugaru uses a .png format for it's texture, which is weird.
Re: Premature
Also, turns out I shouldn't have mentioned weapons as an example. Only the knife is a PNG, not the others.

And now, a rare photo of the elusive half-finished-what-the-hell-is-that-thing-get-it-away-from-me in it's natural habitat.
I have no idea how that thing will turn out.
Oh, and this project is gonna be delayed a bit, as I've decided to go and become a filthy student again.
