i hate to bring it up, but are you on a mac or not? because... mac's are the only ones that can do dialogues the normal way. the others have to use hex editing, or find some other means... anyway, hope you are on a mac, or can figure out one of the other ways. (if you figure out the other ways, tell us please.)

Mac here, too, but it's a PPC 4, so I cain't get OG alpha's yet. ...well, the mac was a free hand-me-down, so I got nothin' to complain about.

And about names, Skofo, don't forget Lugaru's an island, so couldn't there be a mainland or other islands? I'm assuming the anthro- rabbits, wolves, cats, rats , etc. must live all over the world.

You never see boats, but they have that awesome anti-gravity tech they use for their floating garden-home platforms. Dangerous to fall off of, yes, but you can travel in comfort anywhere the wind takes you.

Edit: Unta, Kava is a nasty-tasting brew that gives you a nice mellow high and a calming stomach ache.

The rabbits in Lugaru have a mix of English nouns and typical English names loosely related to rabbits: Turner, April, Jack, Aspen, Skipper, Fiver, Hunter and Hickory. Wolves seem to have more environmental names: Smoke and Snow. Make names for your characters with these in mind. Don't just bash your keyboard and call that a name.

Sure they are, I'm just trying to help him make a more convincing fan sequel and explaining why I'm not happy with any of the choices he gave us in his poll. The stereotypical random fantasy names he made up are quite cheesy, to be honest.

It's not just that; I simply pointed out the most obvious reason. In an earlier post you admitted that this will be in the history of Lugaru's world.

I don't really care if it's in the history or a realistic future, or if the names are unrealistic or Skofo thinks they're cheesy. I'm calling it The Slave's Destiny so if people think it's on the island Lugaru or not, that's up to them. I just want to try to make my own campaign. Heck, if it's that big of a deal, the main character 'ill be Bobby.

Untadaike, if you have a cool story, and it sounds it to me, you should set it wherever/whenever you think makes the story better.

Making these things is a LOT of work, and cutting something out that makes the story more compelling --well, I bet you'd regret it. Keep your names, cultures, everything.

p.s., it's a relief to go back to making fight levels after all the pain of dialogues. So easy, and you get the satisfaction of fighting them when you're done!

Even then, you must consider that a name is just a title decided by your parents. If the parents wanted to call someone Xyvxin, who's going to stop them?

(Yes, this is bumping, but this is my own thread, so there.)

I have news. I will not make a campaign. (You've probably heard this shit a lot from the noobs that think they can make a campaign). This is not because I am lazy, I simply do not have enough time. There is a chance that I can find time to work(ha ha) on it in the summer though. However, after saying that, I think I will just release the maps I have created as a map pack on these forums.

Sorry, but campaign making isn't for everyone.

By the way, at the community college I'm at, classroom numbers are similar to NS 240. One room, however, was titled WTF 69.
