FrozenThunder, are you still making textures? :)
I still work on stuff from time to time. I've just been busy with real life stuff. Overall the grass texture isn't ready for primetime. I still get some un-desireable tiling problems that I'm working out of it but it's looking a lot better than my past attempts so woot

Quite an angry post.

Also, he is entirely right in what he's saying, because the size of the grass looks very strange when it is 2D. Longbladed grass simply looks BAD when flattened like this, and instead looks out of scale. If we were dealing with vertical sprites that actually appeared 3D, then obviously it would make sense.

And it's ironic to hear you rant about his stupidity. Instead you just seem immature and rather shallow.
Not angry, just the spawn of boredom after midnight.

The problem here is that when Noz criticized the texture, he had nothing useful or 'true' in his post. I can appreciate your criticisms because you had an explanation for it. Rather than just being vague (LoL the grass is bigger than his arm), you talked about what bugged you about the way the texture displayed on screen, I.E. the 3d texture being applied to a 2d surface looks out of place.

Shallow? I really couldn't care less about what he does with his avatar, what it looks like, or how much time he spent out of his life working on it. More than likely it was something he conjured up within 2-5 minutes, however, he is dishing out criticism of another members avatar without any reason for it and I was just calling him out on it.

Do I think my avatar is the best looking thing in the world? Hell no, it's just something I slapped together to make myself more identifiable.

Look guys, I've already mentioned before that I am working on these projects as texture-design practice to see what works, what doesn't work, and to get more skilled in the design process overall.

I like receiving constructive criticism because it helps me fine tune my work when I have input from multiple people. I do not, however, appreciate that some members like to say shit like "I see you added this terrible attempt at modding textures as you're avatar." Not only does it contain zero useful points or suggestions on how to improve the product, but it clutters the thread with useless posts.

So I'm going to say this now. If you have nothing useful to say, Do-not-post-in-here.

Real life stuff? What is this you speak of?

It's just a warning for people looking to start trouble in the thread. I do want people to stay on topic though.

When I say real life stuff, I mean things like job seeking, spending time with my girlfriend, and watching to see if my stock investments blow up in the next couple weeks. 8)
