Lugaru&Linux problem

OS: Archlinux
Main menu starts fine, but
when i try to start a game or see options, lugaru crashed with :

Xlib: extension "XiG-SUNDRY-NONSTANDARD" missing on display ":0.0".
Fatal signal: Segmentation Fault (SDL Parachute Deployed)

Is Archlinux not support lugaru? or i should install something? Or it is something else?

The important part is "SDL Parachute Deployed". SDL crashes for some reason. The extension that's mentioned is not in any way related to the crash. That particular extension is rarely supported on consumer hardware.

The underlying issue is that since some version of SDL, the Lugaru code doesn't do things the way the SDL lib expects it to. You really only can figure out which SDL version works and use that or play the Windows version of the game with wine, which should work quite well, provided you have an up-to-date rig.

This question has been asked before, by the way: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=772
Maybe that helps.

So you fixed it? How did you end up doing it? Just asking so that there's a final answer to this one.

Yes, how did you fix this?

I had a thread on here ages ago that never got a decent answer. The best was to run it under Wine and while that works, it's not ideal (or what I had paid for when I bought Lugaru way back when).

I'd LOVE to play native Lugaru again.

Native linux lugaru is exactly the same as windows lugaru(even the code) except that linux lugaru does not allow map editing.
