Edit by Jeff: This post contains spoilers about the end of Lugaru's campaign mode.
I was poking around the game folder, and noticed this bit in the Turner9 dialog. The abridged version goes like this:
Turner: I am going to stay here, and rule over this island.
Turner: If any of you want to challenge my authority, be\my guest.
Guards: ...
Turner: Outlaws will no longer be tolerated in my domain.\If anyone disobeys my laws, I will hunt them down and\kill them myself.
Text: ... 2 weeks later
Fiver: King Turner! One of your villages is staging a\protest against your rule!
Fiver: Shall we allow it to continue, or would you like\to go slay them?
After this, there's EndGood, where he decides a little dissent isn't a bad thing, and EndBad where he goes bananas, decides to kill off the whole village, and his supporters are starting to worry that he's gone nuts.
It looks like an interesting follow-up story, but all that happens when you finish the game, as you know, is that Turner decides to wander off and think about life or something like that.
Is there any way to get the game to continue to this other part? Or is that more of a cutting-room-floor thing?
BTW, if there are going to be any more updates, any chance a status bar could be thrown in, showing how much damage Turner has suffered and how much he has left to heal? It occurred to me that if I knew when he was an inch away from biting it, I might hold off on trying to nail the last baddie for a moment.
Alternate endings, etc.
Nope, you're right. Time constraints caused David to scrap a lot of extras for Lugaru. Keep in mind that Lugaru was produced 100% by David alone with a budget of $0. However, you can expect future Wolfire to be much greater quality now that David has money from Lugaru sales. Is there any way to get the game to continue to this other part? At this point, future updates will probably be bug fixes, although I think a community map pack would be reasonable once more people start customizing the game. A status bar isn't necessary once you get the hang of Lugaru. It would be trivial to implement, in fact, you probably can see a numerical representation of your health in debug mode, but David feels like it would ruin the feel of the game.BTW, if there are going to be any more updates, any chance a status bar could be thrown in, showing how much damage Turner has suffered and how much he has left to heal? I actually got one of those scrapped maps and switched them with a a challenge, and I played this cool map where turner kills all of the villagers. it was dope. I waish it (without the dialouge at the beginning) was the last challenge level, instead of that 3 wolf one ripped off from the campaign.

Sounds like a kick.levbot wrote:I actually got one of those scrapped maps and switched them with a a challenge, and I played this cool map where turner kills all of the villagers. it was dope. BTW, how do you check out maps, for campaigns and things? I mean, can you look at them in Photoshop or something? I know the game has a map editor, but from what I've seen, it doesn't actually show the map as a whole.
