The quickest way to defeat a wolf: Leap and land directly behind, attack - Spinecrusher!
It works well on Challenge Level 11 (2 wolves, 4 rabbits); I've got my time down to just over a minute there, killing the 2 wolves in about 5 seconds flat. Also a good way to start CL 13 (one of the toughest, IMO); got that down to just over 2.
I've finished off all three wolves on CL 14 that way at 2:28. It takes longer to position yourself properly in that one.
I'd kinda like to see more strategy threads on specific topics, like Killing Wolves (I know there's a guide on Lugaru.tk) Fastest Strategies For Challenge Levels (let's post some scores; I like to see other people's results), etc.
Then we wouldn't have to hijack threads like I just did, which started out on Leg Cannons.
Any interest out there?
Personally, I do not have time nowadays to perfect my scores or develop new strategies. If you want to - you could start a thread. I'll read eagerly

Number 6 wrote:I've been trying to work out the perfect leg cannon, something you can pull out at a moment's notice to ice wolves fast. So far, I've been getting them more thru luck than skill.
Any suggestions on that score? How to tell when you're both positioned right, etc?
What can I say, I like to do these things scientifically. Like on the three-wolf part of the campaign. At first I was going after the grey, since he seems easiest, but then I figured I might as well try to ice the tougher wolves first, since there's not much point to killing the grey if his buds womp your ass right after that. It's definitely given me a greater incentive to get the bugs out of the leg cannon.
Funny thing is, even after I manage to take out the first two wolves, even the grey manages to take me down quick.
I found a way that slitelt improves your chances... replace rabbit kick with upunch in the animations foulder, and you'll see what I mean... hopefully

Aw dude, cmon. Stop bumping 2 year old threads. It gets annoying and it's really unnecessary because half the people on this thread arent on the forums anymore.

A new necro-post record -
2 years, 13 days, 12 hours, 17 minutes - and what looks like a well-qualified, highly-skilled addition to the tireless team who toil thanklessly to maintain the amazing quality level of the Wolfire Forums...
Wait! I tell a lie!
This one's even better!
2 years, 100 days, 11 hours, 31 minutes!
I better check the rest to be sure I didn't miss the new world record WFBG (Wolfire Forum Bump Gap).
This is the most interesting thing that's happened on the forum for weeks!
UPDATE:
OK; after analyzing the data, I realize that
this is the winner and new champion:
2 years, 142 days, 16 hours, 17 minutes!
In addition, the 8 posts made by this exceptionally skilled necropostologist represent a stunning CPGT (Cumulative Post Gap Total) of
10 years, 186 days, 16 hours and 22 minutes! This has got to be a league leading PGA (Post Gap Average) of
1 year, 114 days, 14 hours, 2 minutes and 45 seconds.
That’s a very impressive start to what I’m sure will be a stellar career.
Wolfire Forums: The Forums With Fervor, Fatuousness and the Flavor of Decay!
PS: Just to make sure I get in the record books before the field gets too crowded, I’m going to spike the UPGOTU (Ultimate Post Gap of the Universe)
here and now!

If yasefgk makes any more useless posts, he might just take over the Wolfire forums!

Yea, I know, an exaggeration...

Dude, Usagi, do you have a job? School? Something? There's no way you make all those comics AND hunt down and calculate the CPGT and _still_ have time to make a living.
Yes, Spinecrusher -- or any other stealth-kill move o' pwn -- is obviously the quickest way to beat a wolf, but watch the wind.
As for the comment on using the leg cannon to knock enemies into each other, wolves, being the most massive, are the best to throw around; kicking a wolf into a rabbit will almost always kill the rabbit, while reversing that leaves the rabbit a chance to survive depending on the range and angle and all.
But, yeah, cheap way to leg cannon: flip, land, leg cannon. My favorite way to leg cannon: knock 'em down, hit 'em as they stand.

levbot wrote:all weapons (maybe excluding the knife) in lugaru are easy to reverse. If david tried so hard toi make it realistic (no health bar, blurred vision stuff) then why the hell did he make it so that sword battles are like, reverse, counter reverse, reverse, counter reverse, reverse, counter reverse, THEN finally a slash?!?!?!! in real life it is almost impossible to grab a sword from an enemy, but in lugaru it happens like, 5 times a fight!
dont be saying things like that unless you can do better

I leg cannoned another rabbit while he was jumping after me from a hill. (You know that whole "whooosh" sound it makes...yes, a hill that high.)
He went flying...was funny...I tried it on the next rabbit, but I died because of the impact.
EDIT: Oops...didn't check post dates, my bad.

I know this is a necroed thread and all, but something someone posted earlier got me thinking, and it's easier to ask in here than making a new thread.
How do you tell which way the wind is blowing? It's kinda confused me a lot.

Like wise, I just go in and attack Rip ship and bust...
and it works with wolves...
