Steam sale!
Re: Steam sale!
Good thinking. For me it would probably be the other way around, I wouldn't have any time to play any of them.
It's sad, I know.

I got Ben There, Done That and Time, Gentlemen, Please. Few others too, AI War and King's Bounty collection, digital version of Beyond Good & Evil since I've misplaced my copy, and "Insecticide" just to see what that's about.

Okay, so you know you're a nerd when you have a dream about the Meridian4 Complete Pack being marked down to $2 in Steam's daily uber-sales.
Re: Steam sale!
I have a feeling that the last day of the steam sale will be a BIG one.
I think they'll actually take the money from your pockets to but what could be the best deal ever...
...if it will be.

Well of course Crysis is a turd. It's too pretty to not be a turd.
Re: Steam sale!
It's a turd that has some features like DirectX support, HDR, etc.
Why would they make a turd with good graphics?

Re: Steam sale!
Lol, well I finally caved and got World In Conflict. Though I didn't play much yet, I'm enjoying it. =]
Only thing is it seems my computer wants me to put the visual mode to Windows Basic while I'm playing it. Apparently it takes up too much of the CPU. xD

Oh sure, it's very pretty. The interior of the alien spaceship is particularly stunning.Radu wrote:It's a turd that has some features like DirectX support, HDR, etc.

But I'm not really a graphics enthusiast. I mean, don't get me wrong, pretty graphics are nice. If I were gven a choice between two games that were identical in every way except for one having better graphics then I would go that one. But at the end of the day, a truly excellent game is always made up of writing and gameplay. Get those right and the rest is just window dressing.
Any game that relies on graphics above everything else is going to be a momentary amusement at best. Like an extrodinarily pretty girl with an IQ of 60. She might be good fun between the sheets, but it's still not worth trying to tolerate her company once her mouth is free of obstruction.
When all is said and done, a game like Crysis which has functional-but-mediocre gameplay and utterly awful writing is never going to be more then a turd on a stick.
It was a very pretty stick though. Shame about the turd on the end.
Re: Steam sale!
Overall turdificant turd on a stick is not worth it.

I know, right?
Re: Steam sale!
Ghost Master is available on Steam for 0.88€... It's inspired by Dungeon Keeper. For that price? Get it NOW!
Also, there are some games that are pretty cheap on GoG that Steam doesn't have.
Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magic Obscura, Fallout 1, Fallout 2 and many others are just 5.99$. They are mostly a bit older, but some are also available on Steam, like the Ghost Master above, so it's probably better to cross-check first if you're already using Steam.

Re: Steam sale!
I will never cease to be amazed that World of Goo, even after being part of the Humble Indie Bundle, is still a top-seller on Steam right now.
