Re: Errm..your favourite music?
I'm aware this is a double post.
Peace is on the way.
Peace is on the way.
By the sword, they say.
After this, this last blow.
Last chop.
Last drop.
Peace is on the way.
After this, this last scream.
Last shout.
Last trample of boot.
Just one more.
One last rubble wreck
Where once were dreams housed.
Last plane.
Last flame.
Last sky.
Peace is on the way.
Just one more naked Vietnamese girl.
Be she Russian.
Israeli.
Palestinian.
Or Great, Great, Great, Really Great British.
Just one more placard wielding warrior
And this last sword-slinging gunman.
Just one more song of machinegun metal
Hurtling death to outrun life.
Just one more war.
Then we can have peace.
Then we can have peace.
~ Akala - Peace
Akala has become an obsession of mine in the last week. Him and Lowkey are two of the most intelligent rappers I've ever had the pleasure to hear.

At least give a bit of background the constant posting of Youtube videos...just posting videos without any additional information is a bit boring...I generally lose interest in the ones that have nothing written before or afterwards and consequently don't even bother to listen to them.

Ahh man, you legend. Everyone loves some Toto! At my friend's birthday session a couple of months ago we were all pissed at 4 o' clock in the morning belting this out very badly out of tune.

Everyone around here (meaning my city/scene) seems to talk so highly of Death Grips, but I'm afraid I don't get the appeal. I think this may be the one artist to work with Sargent House that I don't find, at the very least, highly interesting, though I guess it's cool that he worked with Zach Hill. Maybe it's just not the style of music for me.Chalky wrote:
So as not to just be a hater, I'll add that I'm really liking this La Dispute track off their split with Touché Amoré. the vocals may require some getting used to for a lot of people, but if you can come to terms with that, they are a great band, with tons of passion.

I don't really like the Death Grips either. I thought the song was neat so I decided to post it.

To be honest, the fact that all his songs have that same type of vocals gets very tiresome...it's something that's interesting if used very sparingly, but he just uses it in perpetuality...which is very annoying.Chalky wrote:I don't really like the Death Grips either. Man, I haven't listened to Modest Mouse in a long time, they're not really my thing, but good stuff.

Bought Gemini Rue last night, after the help of a kind person from the IRC named Johannes who found it for me since I was having such difficulty. Turns out it's everything I hoped it would be. Fantastic game. Released in February of this year but it retains the retro 2D graphical style of adventure games such as Curse Of Monkey Island and so on...some of the drawn backgrounds are sublime, and the score, as you can hear from the Youtube link, was equally impressive. I reccommend this game extremely highly.

Man, I love Voltaire's work. His humor is so delightfully dry and maniacal.
EDIT: MORE. Awesome. I love the lyrics, of course, but the instrumental combination of guitar and violin is awesome.

Re: Errm..your favourite music?
I'd been surfing around the Machinae Supremacy website and found this.
Bionic Commando Theme - Machinae Supremacy
Bionic Commando is awesome (the 2009 release while lacking, was still fun, multiplayer was hilarious). Machinae Supremacy is awesome. Bionic Commando + Machinae Supremacy = awesome...r...est...something.
I am going to have to check out Gemini Rune, it looks pretty sweet.
