Paid subscriptions to Xbox Live was a way of saying a paid subscription to simply use your Xbone.
So you drop say, $500 and then pay $10 a month for the next $7 just to keep it working. That's $315 more dollars assuming they *dont* raise the monthy fee after their Xbone sales start to dwindle.
Then there is all the smaller transactions they make off of digital distribution.
Honestly, I think Sony lost more money by not playing ball and just undercutting Xbone's scheme just a little more.
