Rate The Song
So… This is a thread where we share a song that we really enjoy… And then the next person that posts rates it on a 1-10 scale. (Sorry if this thread already exists, I'm too lazy to search) But yeah… Here's my song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJLkcPhVi9w

Re: Rate The Song
i'm of two very different minds about this.
on one hand, it's an apt love song describing how it feels after you've been adrift and found the one person who gets you. so on that front, a solid 7/10, if only 'cos the music itself just doesn't feel all that fitting to the feeling for me.
on the other, the video is about generic protest against a generic war starring generic looking skinny white attractive people. and it doesn't feel remotely connected to the song itself. so like..3/10 on that. and it only scores that high because it's generically endorsing protest. i guess.
White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane.

Re: Rate The Song
8/10 for nostalgia's sake, I love that song.
Aside from that, I like its march-like style but I found it a little boring some days when I wanted something really engaging.
Any of Blackmill's Miracle.

Re: Rate The Song
I never have really gotten into Blackmill… But I will give the album a 6/10.
Epic nearly 9-minute long song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCcij_cj9PI I posted the lyric video up because there is no official music video… Also I apologize if the lyrics in the video are not what the singer is saying… Almost no one can agree on what he is saying in this song.

I'm going to give it a 6/10
That is actually a high rating from me because music like this isn't really my bag. That being said I do think the musicianship behind it is top notch as is the overall progression. The intro was a bit too long and kind of was drawn out for a while but I understand the artistic goal behind it.
I really do like this thread though, it's great to hear what you guys listen to.
Alas, here is my song: Thee Oh Sees - "Toe Cutter - Thumb Buster"

I really like this thread too, me and you seem to be the only people really interested in it though.
Anyways pretty good, his voice got on my nerves a bit towards the end but it reminded me of Cage The Elephant. So, 7/10

Language warning? Pffft fuck it.
A solid 8/10. I really dig Cage The Elephant, they have a great sound. If you haven't seen them live you definitely need to, he has GREAT energy.
This guy has some seriously impressive pipes, just wait till like 4:00. Shit gets real.

I like the mix of instruments. Not sure if I'd listen to it everyday, but the sound appeals to me. 7/10

Re: Rate The Song
I'd give that an 8/10, but I think if it was any longer than the 2 minute mark it would really start to grate on me. Reminds me a lot of Sigur Rós's style of song arrangement.
