The Bugs Thread
Re: The Bugs Thread
I run overgrowth and get the following error:
"OpenGL error
On line 296 of textures.cpp:
invalid enumerant"
Windows XP, PC, CPU 2.8GHz(Single core), 1GB of RAM, RADEAON 9600 GRAPHICS card.
It is possible I just need to install openGL... but I wanted to tell you about this error anyway.

Re: The Bugs Thread
Updated with bugs from Sargon, Glabbit's graphics card, and also changed the 'repeat bugs' format a bit.
Fair enough, though I suppose it's still a good idea for Mac users to mention what computer they're using.Mango wrote:Not really, no.Viking Zippy wrote:That could be difficult to pin down, so I again direct my question at people more knowledgeable with hardware than I am: is the brand of computer relevant if all other details are provided?
Re: The Bugs Thread
I had exactly the same error. I'm using an Ati Mobility Radeon 9600 card with the Omega driver.Sargon wrote:I run overgrowth and get the following error:

I removed that driver and got the latest driver from Ati. Since they don't support mobility range I used first Mobility Modder on them and then could install them. Now it runs fine.

On Vista (sorry, don't know this computer's innards):
- Apparently random crashes.
- Scaling can make it so that the sides of object facing me are transparent

A Laptop..
XP pro
nvidia Go 7600 512
1gb ram
Core duo 1.6 ghz
Loading objects doesnt work... says cant find object... something and does this whatever i have something selected or not... even if i hit cancel
copying objects works... and moving with right mousebutton thats good...
but resizing and stuff... not..
whatever option i have selected the arrow keys wont do anything... only when i have moved the object with the right mouse button and then only the first arrow press works... then not anymore...
only way i can rotate it, is to hold a button W A S or D and the right mouse button... and moving the cursor... then it rotates and sometimes it just moves it... strange
first time i ran the alpha the cube i selected or made active had its walles turned lightblue... in a manner like when you select an image in IE a checkerbox blue was overlayed... later only the edges of the cube went blue... never seen that happen again with the blue sides...
graphics look nice but the landscape looks kinda "from another planet" like
it should have mountain texture and snowy tops... and glaziers between hills... that kind of theme would fit the map better than the desert one .P

MacBookPro, IntelCoreDuo, running OS X 10.5.5.
in authentication screen- can't enter "@" symbol.
digits and "/" can only be entered thru numpad.
tried both builds - alpha 1 & 2.

Re: The Bugs Thread
Also a good idea is to write what build you are using, such as Alpha 1 or 2 or Blessed build 1, etc.
Re: The Bugs Thread
The camera sometimes shakes horizontally when moving around the cube in alpha 2 on Windows XP.
Re: The Bugs Thread
The camera shake bug is still there (view shaking if you try to grab the box while moving), as well as a new bug, which causes view shaking whenever you click on something while the cursor is moving (the view will only stay stationary if there is 0 cursor movement).

Re: The Bugs Thread
Build: Alpha 2
OS: Windows XP Professional SP3
CPU: 1.7Ghz
RAM: 1GB
Graphics card: Mobile Intel 945GM Express Chipset Family
The terrain detail (I think it's called) is green, the normal texture underneath is red and I can see through the blocks.
I suspect this is because of my lacking graphics card.

I had this exact same problem.Silverfish wrote:Build: Alpha 2

I got this error while it was loading the env object:
Error on line 1557 of model.cpp: invalid enumerant
And these are my specs:
OS: WinXP home
Processor: Intel Celeron 3.06 GHz
RAM: 512MB
VGA: Intel 82865G 96MB
I suppose it's my lacking graphics card for me as well, and I'm not sure yet if I'll be able to get a new one anytime soon.

Re: The Bugs Thread
Try turning off shaders.
Although I also have an Integrated graphics, it looks different and acts a bit better than what you described, but I think it's because of Apple's OpenGL Implementation taking up the slack.

It's the exact same story when I don't have shaders on.

Build: Alpha 3
OS: Mac OS X 10.4.11
Processor: 1.83 Ghz Intel Core Duo
RAM: 1.5 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Gfx Card: ATI Radeon X1600 128 Mb VRAM
With the following settings:
screenwidth 1280
screenheight 720
fullscreen 0
vsync 0
multisample 0
anisotropy 0
post_effects 0
shaders 0
I recieved a message upon starting the program, saying "OpenGL error: On line 904 of terrain.cpp: Framebuffer error". I then recieved another message saying the same thing, except the "904" was replaced with "939". When it finally finished loading, I was greeted with this:

The purple textures aren't the annoying part. The annoying part is in the lower left.

Re: The Bugs Thread
In A3 for Mac OS X, I’m getting:
OpenGL error: On line 904 of terrain.cpp: Framebuffer error
Error(s) in Data/GLSL/firstterain.frag: ERROR: 0:9: '=' : cannot convert from 'const int' to '3-component vector of float' (followed by a GLSL link error)
OpenGL error: On line 398 of graphics.cpp: Invalid operation
OpenGL error: On line 939 of terrain.cpp: Framebuffer error
followed by 2–3 FPS (as opposed to somewhere over 100 in A2).
Fixing the shader (vec3 color = 0; should be vec3 color = vec3(0.0); – I’ve seen this before in shaders written under Windows) gives me “only” the two framebuffer errors and a decent frame rate. However, there are artefacts suggesting a low Z buffer resolution.
Video, MPEG-4 mov, 1.7 MiB
Oh, and the ground is no longer solid, but I’m guessing you knew that.
