Tribes ascend - Awesome free2play multiplayer game

Hey, I think you guys should check out Tribes Ascend if you haven't already. The game is a fast paced FPS with a so called skiing mechanic that allows you to quickly traverse the battlefield.





What's really awesome about the game is that currently all equiment can be recieved for free without the need of paying a dime, except for character skins which are only there for aesthetic purposes anyway. I gave it a whirl. The combat itself is rather stale and dry feeling, but that skiing shit is awesome. It's a really cool mechanic. They could probably make a decent sales attempt with just a bad ass racing/obstacle course/skiing brawler. I'd love to see them expand and refine that mechanic a lot more.

Tribes is actually a really old concept, with like 4 games behind it. The first one, Starsiege: Tribes was released in '98.
