5 years of game dev experience. So.. Where's the genius part? It's simply stuff he learned.
People are fast with calling someone a genius. Geniuses are noble-prize material, that's something else.
Here are some David facts (he will probably be annoyed at me when he sees this)

- He has a strange pseudo-photographic memory. One time in high-school I was struggling to memorize a couple of pages from Hamlet for a stupid English assignment. I had been practicing for days and days. During lunch one day, in order to tease me, David asked if he could see my copy of Hamlet, looked at it for a few minutes, and recited the entire thing back to me.

- He can read at an insane speed with full retention. Just from reading before bed, he has been known to finish meaty books in one or two days. Each summer, his room becomes littered with books that he has read.

- David took the SAT a year or two early, as a freshman or sophomore, and he got a perfect score.

Some of Nick's amazing facts  !

- I memorized the whole first tenacious d album in 2 days :o

- I learned all of Flash's drawing utilities, up to intermediate actionscripting and how to post SWFs on the web... when I was 11... in 2 months *GASP*!

- I helped my sister with her Gypsy lines, and I memorized all of the father's lines the 5th time through for the first three acts :D .

OOH! :P

Edit: But I can't pass the SATs this year... well I havent tried... maybe next year. That is pretty cool, though.

A savant gamedev? Omg ;)

Just kidding. These are impressive abilities. I hope he uses them to improve the world instead of just sucking knowledge in.

I share the love for books.

Let's drop the topic, there's no way to discuss this without embarassing or even insulting your brother. Since I don't know him, I'll just accept that he's a genius because you say so, okay?

Wow!

I especially like how he doesn't want people to say that. :)

Just curious - before David gets here and bans all of us - what are all those books he reads?

C is not really simple. Start with BASIC. Then maybe something like Java. I don't really like HTML since it's like the coding equivalent of a Powerpoint presentation.
