Halo [Split by David]
You shouldn't be playing Halo anyway, so that's hardly a problem.

Why not? Netcode aside, it's one of the best games I've ever played — though admittedly, I have little experience with consoles past the N64 eraUltimatum479 wrote:You shouldn't be playing Halo anyway, so that's hardly a problem.
As for Lugaru 2, I'm sure the netcode will be near if not flawless, and if there are people playing it like the people here, it'll have one of the best game communities ever

That can be fun, especially with the sounds they makeCrill3 wrote:You get to shoot aliens in the face.
Now only if Halo had Lugaru's ragdoll physics — and not Halo 2's morbid ragdoll — it would be insane.
Physics. There is so much crazy stuff you can do with the engine.Ultimatum479 wrote:....Name one good thing about Halo aside from the graphics, please. One.
Care for some more?

Not if you don't follow the so-called story line and try more interesting stuff.Ultimatum479 wrote:You're saying the GAMEPLAY is fun? Are you joking? It's about the least challenging FPS I've _ever_ played, and I'm no FPS master.
Like stealing a plane earlier than you're supposed to and flying ahead and dive bombing aliens who expect you to be climbing up their stupid structures.
Or finding ways to drive vehicles (tanks, planes, etc.) into structures where they don't belong and weren't intended to go.
Or playing the whole game with nothing but a sidearm (very, very difficult).
Or playing a whole level killing everything by clubbing them with your gun (nearly impossible).
I once finished (most of) Marathon using nothing but my fist. It was incredibly difficult, but also the awesome.

Or doing those both at once (playing Legendary using nothing but melee attacks) after having only played Halo once before -- a single multiplayer match against nubs -- and doing the whole game, dying only once (because I accidentally drove my Warthog off a cliff). Been there, done that, boring, lamely easy.Usagi wrote:Or playing a whole level killing everything by clubbing them with your gun (nearly impossible).
Marathon is much harder to play using only your fist than Halo is to play using only pistol-whipping, though I've done that too.

Exactly, you only played once, against 'nubs', even; judging an entire game's difficulty by one setting or against one type of player is making an awfully big assumption.Ultimatum479 wrote:... after having only played Halo once before -- a single multiplayer match against nubs -- and doing the whole game, dying only once (because I accidentally drove my Warthog off a cliff). I admit, there are loads of newbs on Halo, but if you try a few different servers you'll find at least one or more decent players in a game — or, if you're lucky and stumble across a skilled clan's dedi with the right players in it, you're definitely going to have a challenge. Trust me, I've scrimmed with many good clans; one in particular, XK, have some of the highest skill levels possible without the use of aimbots — which are the scourge of the earth, by the way.
